On the day before Christmas my husband and I took our two wild little boys and our cranky toddler through the drive-through line at the East Lyme Dunkin Donuts. Those of you who have been in this DD know that seating is limited, especially for a family of five. So, here we are thinking we will take our kids through the drive through as more of a courtesy to other patrons. We'll get our food and go on to the park to eat. Apparently, and I never knew this, when you order FIVE breakfast sandwiches it sends the employees, one in particular (Jake?), into a fit of rage. Why? This is what I heard the employee LOUDLY (for all to hear) say, and I quote, "I don't know why people go through the drive through and order mad food. Why don't they just come in. Stupid!" He was talking to another employee (Nakeesha) but loudly and in OUR direction. He rolled his eyes and then continued with, "They order all this and hold our line. Stupid!" He shook his head and loudly told us how "stupid' we were a third time. I cannot believe we had the audacity to order breakfast sandwiches at a DD where they serve breakfast and have a drive through. We are monsters! Ha! I honestly thought we were on one of those reality TV shows where they put people in ridiculous and uncomfortable situations to see how the people will respond. Wrong! This guy apparently is just THE RUDEST employee ever! I will never go in or drive through this DD again...NEVER! We normally go to the Waterford DD and the people are friendly, courteous, and professional. If you have small children and want to go through the drive through I DO NOT recommend 209 Flanders. Do yourself a favor and drive to Waterford or ANYWHERE else! Even McDonalds would be better and they never complain about...
Read moreEvery time I go in there, there's a problem. A few times I went in there, they didn't know how to make my tea. One time they put too much sugar. One time they put too much cream. One time I went there to get hot chocolate and the hot chocolate was spilling all over the cup and the guy handed it to me through the window like there wasn't a problem. And when I said something he gave me an attitude. My dad just went there yesterday to get me a coolatta and the Coolatta machine was down. He said the lady put way too much cream in his coffee and when he said something he got an attitude. Today I went there and they barely had any donuts. No reg glazed, chocolate glazed, Boston cream, and only one chocolate sprinkle. That's a little ridiculous. And when I asked if they missed a shipment or something he goes "I don't know, they're just not sending enough donuts". Again... with an attitude. It's called customer service. People don't HAVE to go there, they choose to. An employees attitude can make or break a business. I live right down the street and it's convenient, but they need to train their workers better. I'm never going to this Dunkin Donuts again. Sorry. Starbucks...
Read moreNot once have I gotten a correct order at this location. It never used to be like that...but over the past year it's gotten progressively worse. I've gotten coffees made wrong(several times), sandwiches that had on it what I asked to NOT have and missing what was supposed be on it (several times)...croissants instead of English muffins (several times). I tried On the Go here - I love it at the location in Norwich- and after 5 minutes it's still sitting on the machine, no one said anything to me standing there, but the employees were having a great time talking about their weekend. Im a very tolerant person and having worked at a restaurant I realize mistakes happen and even when things are wrong I never complain. BUT...its not just every once in a while, every time I try and give them another try I still haven't gotten an...
