Subway — Restaurant in East Lyme

When I came in I asked if I could use an expired coupon bc many Subways honor it,but not this one. I asked for a foot long. Only put cheese on half. The guy continue to put cheese on the whole thing,I say half,he kept putting whole. My child started to explain what half means. I noticed the bins had other things in them. The spinach had green peppers in them . The pickles had other food in it. I have food allergies and I started to get nervous. After the grinder was completed I asked them to not use the knife to cut it because in the past it leaves residue from previous customers grinder. He continues to use the knife on my grinder. The knife wasn't clean and it left bacon and who knows what else on my grinder. I said I asked you not to use the knife. He continues to use the knife and rolls up the grinder. I'm just dumbfounded. I leave with the grinders but I don't eat it. Not sure if there was a language barrier or he just didn't understand me.but left hungry and...

The young man behind the counter was not very attentive. My daughter ordered a sweet onion chicken grinder, or something like that. The young man did not ask if my daughter wanted the chicken hot or cold, he just put it on the grinder cold. I said to my daughter isn't the chicken supposed to be warmed up. My daughter said they are supposed to ask the customer. When we said my daughter wanted the chicken hot the young man acted like we were putting him out of his way for him to do his job. Saw some Subway coupons in the mail so I decided to try to use one today at the downtown Niantic CT location for lunch. They refused to take the coupon and when I asked why they had no response. There was no sign anywhere stating that coupons weren't accepted.

Apparently it's an ongoing issue with Subway corporate sending out coupons and locations not honoring them. I can't justify $14 for an average at best footlong meatball sub, a small bag of chips and drink. It's a complete ripoff and it's false advertising.
