A good place for a local family to go to, you won't see the power station to the left of McCook's point, making it a bit of a visual splendor. There are bathrooms available and some parking.
A playground is up the hill for those more active families, and some paths to walk around that give different views of the Niantic shoreline. I recommend bringing some food here for an afternoon lunch.

Although it doesn't have a life guard or one, I have seen when we went. Great music entertainment in the summer. Have camps at times. My daughter and I prefer this beach to all the other ones.
