We were so excited to try Checkers up here as when we go down south this is one of our favorite restaurants. We went to the Manchester, Pa location today May 12, 2023. As we pulled into the drive thru the employees were all sitting outside, some smoking and just watched us as we proceeded to the drive thru. We placed our order at 7:20pm, spending just under $40.00. We finally got food around 7:36. In this time, we received our drinks and told how much the bill was. We paid our bill and had our card handed back to us. Two more times we were told how much our bill is and asked how we would like to pay?!?!? After letting them know we already paid the first time we were asked, they shut the window. They came back to the window and asked what we were waiting on!?!? We proceeded to let them know that we were waiting on our food. At 7:36 we were finally given a bag of food. Checking the bag, we noticed that we were short one burger and one fry. We waited at the window as they talked to each other to see who was going to open the window and see what we needed. They came back asking what was wrong and we let them know what we were missing from our order. We were asked to pull into the drive thru waiting area. Where we sat for another 10 minutes. I went to the walk up window where there was a sign "walk up window closed". However, there was another women waiting at the window because her order was also messed up. After they were finished with her then shut the window like I was not even standing there. I asked about my burger and three employees stood there in plain site talking and looking over at me shaking their heads as if we were the ones in the wrong for wanting our order to be correct. After waiting for quite a while, we finally got the burger, I wasn't even worried about the fry at this time. We just wanted to leave. We were very unhappy with our service and the amount of disrespect the employees at this location showed. I do not foresee us going to this location again in the future. Read moreAvoid this place at all costs! Placed order on mobile app., 10 minutes later showed up, restaurants was empty No one in drive thru, still had to wait for someone to respond on intercom. Give names for mobile orders (3 in total) one order is handed out instantly, then told to pull forward and park "YOUR FOOD WILL BE RIGHT OUT". After 20 minutes of waiting and as many cars going thru the drive thru, still have not received my order. So I back to the entrance of the drive thru line, to inquire where my food is. Tom Ziegler, apparently son of owner and "operator" of the establishment came outside, and said while pointing, "move your car!". I said "I have been waiting 20 minutes on an order placed over a half hour ago, where is my food?" Rather then taking proper steps like, "let me check" or "Im sorry, we are behind, I can just refund your order". . He pulled out his phone and called the cops! There is not inside dining and they refuse to answer questions or open window to communicate. I would have gladly stayed to speak with an officer, the reason I backed over to drive thru to begin with is because lunch break was coming to an end, they had my order now for 30 mins, and I needed to leave. I have contacted corporate office of Checkers, even though his daddy owns it, I think they will take the proper actions in removing him from the company. Read moreThis place is awesome. I was driving by and pulled into the drive-thru, and ordered. . .well, let me say A LOT. Chili dogs, a smoky BBQ bacon burger, a Checkers burger, mozzarella sticks, blue raspberry frozen drink, a sweet tea, etc.
Serenity took my order and right up front, I asked for NO ONIONS on the first burger. As I was ordering, she paid attention and at the end of my order, she asked if I would like that to be "No Onions" on the other burger and "No onions" on the chili dogs. Being allergic to onions, attention to detail like hers really impressed me. Watching thru the window, I could see that the whole crew there seems to be very customer-centric.
Now, while I realize this is "fast food", and portions aren't HUGE, I have to also say that the flavors, like the fry flavor on the mozzarella sticks is really delicious!
And the PRICE really amazed me. If I had ordered all of the food I did at one of the other fast food places (you know, the one with the arches, or the one that thinks it's Royalty), it know it would have been well over $35. But I got these "Pick 2" deals, added a couple other things, and my order was under $20. That's VALUE!
Let me summarize. It's not often I'll write a review. But the attention to detail, the customer service I received from Serenity, the actual flavor of the food, the fact that it was HOT, not lukewarm like other places, and the PRICE has me wanting to share this with others.
