Peking — Restaurant in East Manchester Township

Always love getting food from here. Very typical american chinese fare, but very reasonably priced and always ready hot and quick. Personally recommend the chicken and mushrooms, sesame chicken, and black pepper chicken, although nothing I've had here has been bad!

Additional Review 12/31/24: Place has REALLY gone downhill in terms of service and value. Prices have skyrocketed. Food is still absolutely incredible, but it takes absolutely forever to get your food now. Waited over an hour for what once would have taken 15-20 minutes. And apparently I was lucky because the lobby was packed and some people said they had been waiting for 2 hours. While I was waiting a guy and his kid walked in and asked about their order, and the lady at the front said they didn't have it. The guy gave her his order and she just repeated that she didn't have it. He asked to have her put it in now and she just kept repeating over and over she didn't have it until he final left in frustration. Unfortunately this is the only decent Chinese place near us (china one down the road is BAD), and admittedly the food is still really good, but between the wait and the prices we're probably just going to have to stop getting Chinese food for a while....

Got a text informing us that Peking would be open today! Called in the order at 6:12pm and was told a 25-30 min wait. Got to the restaurant at 6:35pm, and there were TONS of customers that all looked angry. Cut forward to 8:45PM!!!!!!!!! And we finally got our order. A 2 1/2 hour wait. The staff was unapologetic and acted as though nothing was wrong. I understand it’s Christmas Day, but probably about 15 other customers were waiting just as long as well! People want to be home with their FAMILIES. The most frustrating part was that, if they had just informed us of the wait time on the phone, I would have been understanding. But to lie to your customers and say “25-30min” just so you don’t lose any business? Instead of losing a lot of customers for the evening, I have a feeling they will lose a lot of customers permanently because of how the situation was handled. So very disappointed. It used to be our favorite takeout, and we drove 20 min just because we love the food, but after tonight, I think we’ll be finding a new establishment...

I'm a regular at this restaurant, and I've had quite a few experiences with them.

I always call ahead for my order, and I'm given a 15 to 20 minute wait time. Can't say I've ever waited much longer than the time stated, but I usually give ample time (around 30 minutes) and my food is always ready and hot. Prices are not bad, and I enjoy the food for the cost.

I've gotten about a dozen different dishes here and I can't say I've disliked any of them. Dumplings are definitely my favorite, as the sauce is unique compared to many places I've eaten. I don't particularly care for the desserts here, as I feel they definitely do their hot foods better than their desserts.

Staff is always friendly enough. Since I'm a regular they have memorized my regular sides on my order. I enjoy the familiar faces as it appears to be a family...
