PLEASE STOP PATRONIZING THIS BUSINESS!!!!! They are nasty and disgusting and they’re getting consistently worse!!!! I just left this location after ordering a chicken livers meal and being served RAW livers!! Thank goodness I discovered they were under cooked while waiting for an order of okra because they were ice cold! Once I brought the under cooked livers to the cook’s attention- after knocking on the front door because they’re still not serving customers in the dining room, although we’re 2 years beyond Covid-19- the cook was very apologetic and offered to re-cook and remake my order. That’s when the worst example of a man, manager and human being stepped in and basically insinuated that my complaint was without merit, even though he was holding the plate of half cooked chicken livers. He attempted to make excuses for me being served under cooked chicken livers by saying “they probably look different when you cook ‘em at home” to which I had to explain to him that a chicken liver is an organ meat and therefore needs to be cooked thoroughly and not have blood still showing beyond the batter, smdh. So yea, I have a tendency not to eat under cooked chicken livers at home. I demanded a refund, which I didn’t get. Needless to say, we both engaged in an unpleasant and unnecessary exchange, in front of his 2 teenage, female employees! After I shared with him my displeasure in his behavior and the example he’s setting by arguing with a customer when there is clearly no dispute, THE CHICKEN LIVERS WERE UNDER COOKED to the point of some still being raw!!!! I left WITHOUT my order being corrected nor a refund. These businesses, such as this one which suck money from the community but can’t even run a decent restaurant, need to just close their doors instead of potentially risking death and illness to their customers with poor cooking practices, low quality food and terrible customer service. I have since contacted the Corporate Office and will also contact the City of East Point Health Department to pay them a little visit….AGAIN!!!!!!! PLEASE JUST CLOSE THE DOORS ON...
Read moreFor a chain chicken restaurant the food is five star. I've been there several times since it reopened and I'd argue it's as good as some of the more awarded Atlanta chicken places - like Busy Bee.
The chicken is great and I love their baked beans as well as their cinnamon rolls. Also very good - their full sized biscuits. Their mashed potatoes are just OK but they offer the choice or white or brown gravy. And finally: they even serve decent corn on the cob. It's full sized and edible, unlike the terrible version I've had at KFC. Unfortunately it's listed as a "limited time item". Compared to Popeyes/Churches and especially KFC, Mrs Winners is several stars ahead.
The times I've been there the staff has also been unusually friendly and helpful for Atlanta.
That said, if you're not acclimatized to urban Georgia, and are just passing through the area, the location can be intimidating. It's on the edge of a declining retail area, and there is a noticeable lack of streetlights at night. The restaurant itself is of the 70's formica version. Overall location/ambiance is probably just one star. Think about getting the food to go.
And on a final note, the chain appears to have been brought out of bankruptcy and is now headquartered near my hometown in Minnesota. Hopefully it'll be successful and some more Northern stores will open soon. At least one pair of displaced Minnesotans think it would go over well in...
Read moreMy review is based on the food itself and not the location. My daughter surprised me with two steak biscuits from Mrs Winners. I was excited because it had been a very long time. Mrs Winners was the only chicken I liked in Atlanta when I first got here and then they closed most of their locations. This location closed too but it reopened thankfully. I still miss the Main Street location in College Park.
Let me tell you this steak biscuit was life. I need whomever created the recipe for your biscuits to teach Chick Fil A, Bojangles, McDonalds, and a few others. Mrs Winners biscuits are big enough for the meat. They are tender and moist. Not dry, hard, doughy, thick you get the gist. They are melt in your mouth goodness and they do more crumble and fall apart. I saved one for my breakfast Monday and I guarantee it will be...
