Mr. D's Corned Beef Deli — Restaurant in Eastpointe

I had a taste for a corned beef sandwich . So I Googled a place close to me and found Mr Ds. I checked the menu and the prices were reasonable. I drove there and I loved the atmosphere , the young lady at the register was nice and pleasant, I realized it was black owned, the restaurant was clean and they were playing r&b music. It was a whole vibe and I was there for it. After I left I tried the sandwich and realized the rye. Bread i ordered was white bread and there wasn't any cheese on the sandwich. The meat was very tender and cooked well but had a odd taste. I don't know if they cook the meat with cloves or some type of different type of spice. But it wasn't NASTY but just not what I was used to. I called them and let them know and was told the bread was rye bread , and the cheese melted into the sandwich. She did offer to replace the sandwich but I couldn't go back at that time. I dissected the sandwich only to find out there was a very very thin slice of cheese that was on there. So thin I couldn't even taste it. And the bread was indeed white bread. I've never had rye bread that felt,tasted and looked like white bread. Maybe I will try it again but just get a onion roll or something . Because I really did like the location and vibe of the restaurant.

I will start off by saying this... It was my first time at this restaurant, and my food was not what I expected. I am huge on reviews. I dropped the ball on this one, because I did not read reviews until after I had my order. I am a business owner myself, and I understand the impact of poor reviews based on unfair circumstances. Even though I was dissatisfied and the reviews for this restaurant were not the best. I still called in level headed and explained my issue. I spoke with Janiyah. She was one of the most pleasant people I've spoken with in a long time! She was super apologetic and made sure I was compensated at my leisure. When I picked up my remake, I ordered a piece of cake. She forced me to take it for free! Of course I forced a tip on her as well 😊 Bree was also amazing and kind! Side note: That food was slappin!!! And it was enough fries to feed a small congregation 😂 I say all that to say this. If you visit a business and have a poor experience, don't always be so quick too make a snap decision of not giving a second chance. The poor experience is not what makes a company. To start, I placed my order at 9, an hour before close, so maybe it was my fault. I was only given half my order and part of that was even wrong. I orderd a cornbeef burger combo, fried mushrooms, and 2 egg rolls. I received the egg rolls and fried cauliflower. When I arrived to pick up my food I was told it was still being prepared, not a problem. Shortly another customer comes in and is told her order couldn't be completed due to them having to make more corned beef. She was then given alternate options and decided she would wait while they finished the corned beef. At no time during my visit was i even made aware of the issue nor was I given any options to replace my order. As for the food in question, the fried cauliflower was bland, no seasoning in the batter, and because I was also given none of the condiments I asked for, I'm basically eating fried batter. To be fair, the lady taking my order was polite and I wasn't charged for the sandwich combo. However when half my order is missing without any acknowledgement and the other half is wrong, I can't give a good review...
