The very first time I came to Square Deal was because I had gotten a "repair" done at a Midas shop in Sterling Heights, & that place not only DIDN'T fix the root cause of my car problem, but they made it worse. Chris at Square Deal found the real root cause, undid the mess that the Midas shop did, & fixed everything properly. He got my car back up & running, & I've been going to Square deal ever since. I'm blessed not to have a car note, & I'm trying to keep this car as long as I can. Square Deal has done right by me, & my car, for the past several years. Most recently, when I brought my car in for brake work, Chris told me that after running a thorough check on my car's front & rear brakes, that my car was NOT in need of repair work at this time, but he did find something else that needed attention. I really appreciate the fact that he was HONEST w/ me about my car NOT needing brake work at this time. He could've charged me for things I didn't need done, but he didn't, AND he found something that DID need fixing before it caused me a problem. Chris is honest, ethical, & Square Deal is fair w/ their pricing, & they do GOOD work. If you have a car, especially an older car, I highly recommend Square Deal to keep your car running...

My wife had an Escape we bought from Chris and his wife, who better to buy a vehicle than from your own mechanic that you trust? What was his wife's vehicle became my wife's and it never let us down. I drove a lot of Econoline E250 work vans over the years, used, mostly around 15 years old. Chris and I had a running joke when he would call me after diagnosing what ever problem there was... "Well Mark, its gonna be $950 bucks," he would say. Then I would laugh and he would laugh and both say, "Its always $900 bucks!"
Of course, the actual price varied between $850 and $1250 on those sort of services. Once and a while it would be something simple and the price would be under $200 bucks and then we could laugh again, "You mean its not $900 bucks?"
The real bummer is, that after Chris and the guys do all that work, and the transmission or something goes out....
That's another great thing about Square Deal, Chris tells you when there is someone else better qualified for a particular thing OR when its just plain not worth it.
No better deal than a...
Read moreDo not go to this place of business, the are rip-off artist, and flat out idiots! I had a fuel pump installed, these knuckle heads installed it without changing the filter, how dumb is that?!?! Then they had nerve to say, its my fault because I didn't bring them one to install. The knuckle head mechanic Eddie told me that he stocked them, but didn't know that I wanted him to put it on when he installed the pump (really?). They refused to reimburse, or try to solve the problem in any way. I hate mechanics who aren't good enough to make an honest living. They figured I would bring it back for other repairs. They have no integrity! Don't make the mistake that I did. Do not patronize, If you have a car there for repair, get it out now!...
