I tried this place and it’s all you can eat offer a year ago and was shocked when they made me pay more than the $47.99 because they said I didn’t eat all that I had ordered. I went again last night RELUCTANTLY because Toro Sushi off of Limonite was full. My son and I ordered a reasonable amount, and we definitely tried our best to eat everything, with a tinge of anxiety in the back of my mind from the outcome of the previous visit.
After we were done, our waiter was no where to be found so we sat there for probably 20-25 minutes (the waiter was in the parking lot taking pictures of his car bumper). A hostess came to our table and said that because we did not touch one roll we would have to pay for it in full but allowed us to take any other leftovers.
First of all, with all of the overkill of signs they have posted at the hostess booth there is nothing stating this policy. Secondly, the menu for all you can eat does not state this either. In fact, what it did say (because I read it while waiting for the waiter to reappear) was that all food ordered had to be consumed at the restaurant. Interesting how they allowed me to take some home by bending that rule but then making up another one not posted ANYWHERE about paying extra and over the published amount. I’m sire if they had that posted anywhere, people would re-think paying $47.99+++
I gave this place a second chance and I left thinking it is unscrupulous of them to not publish this policy on their menu. I understand they are worried about the cost of food waste which is a risk youtake as a business with all you can eat, but being transparent about your policy on paying extra would maybe allow people to order as they go along and feel full to avoid this.
Last night I learned that if I want sushi, I’ll wait an hour outside of Toro. They have a great menu that includes hibachi and a wait staff that genuinely exceeds...
Read moreWe called Zeppin at around 5pm on Dec 27 to ask if they accept reservations, Zeppin's receptionist, Eddie, said yes they do. We said we'll call back to confirm the number of guests. When we called back, Eddie, said they don't take reservations denying what he said on our phone call earlier. He said there was a wait time of 15 to 20 minutes. We just went there and arrived at around 6:15pm.
When we, group of 4, got there, there was no one there waiting. As we went in, there were 3 tables vacant and all cleaned up, 1 table for 4 and two tables for 2.
Eddie told us that we need to sign up and wait because there was one group ahead of us who were not there in the vicinity. Eddie said that he will try to call the group so we went out to wait.
As we went out, a couple went in and Eddie promptly seated them. I went in to complain where Eddie said that we can be seated already because apparently the group ahead of us that he was referring to was already there seated.
As I respectfully asked why we had to let us wait, Eddie rudely and inappropriately told me that the couple, whom we were ahead of, were only a party of 2, so I pointed at the vacant table for 4. Eddie rudely asked me "DO YOU WANT A SMALL TABLE?" with an attitude. I pointed at the vacant table for 4 again and said, "there is a vacant table for 4". He blurted out again "DO YOU WANT A SMALL TABLE?" a little louder this time.
It was a very humiliating experience because the customers were watching us. We just left and dined elsewhere.
I hope that Zeppin management give attention to their employees' unprofessional interactions with...
Read moreWe were looking for a new local restaurant to try. About once or twice a month we choose a new place to give a chance to, in an effort to support our local mom-and-pop restaurants. We were not disappointed! It is located in a corner part of a shopping center. We didn't even know it was there, the traffic is mainly towards Costco. The front outdoor area of the restaurant is so tranquil and relaxing. It isn't filled with a crowd, it is perfect for a quiet night out with the family. We were greeted by their hostess, she was prompt and personable. Immediately took us to our table and our waiter showed up about a minute later. The music was lively and so is the staff, our waiter was top-notch customer service! Frankly, they all were fantastic, it was like a group of very good-looking Korean Soap Opera actors, gorgeous people working there and the personalities to match! All of their staff is very prompt and helped each other with tables, I can tell it is a true group effort. The food was so, so good! Very good portions, I ate quite a bit of my food and still had plenty to take home. We ordered their Bento dinner options and tried out one of their Margaritas (like a spritzer). It's like a Margarita and a mineral water in one, it is refreshing but not an overpowering taste of alcohol. It was a perfect refresher with dinner. Our waiter was so generous, he came out and brought out two ice creams on the house! We are so grateful to have amazing new restaurants in our neighborhood. We look forward to...
