Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Eau Claire

I like Coffee. A LOT. And I like Caribou better than Starbucks' Pike place blend. I like shorter lines at Caribou and the slightly less pretentious feel of it. Having said that, the Hastings Way Caribou has steadily declined over the past 6 months. They never seem to have the food I want, and it seems slower at the drive through. When I want food I either take the extra couple of minutes to go to the coffee grounds or wait at Starbucks (drive thru). My favorite thing was always the trivia- not that I need the 10 cents, it was just fun. They still have it, but trivia questions are now all aimed at educating me about Caribou products, which I don't care too much about and have no shot at ever knowing (example: how many grams of caffeine in an 8oz cup of our spring blend? A: don't know because I don't work at Caribou. Since I add the 10 cents to the tip, it just cost...

Coffee is as good as it gets for a chain coffee shops, local fresh made roasters and shops will always be better. The atmosphere is perfect for those wanting to siphon some free wifi while they distract themselves from doing the work they actually came to do. The food is surprisingly not bad considering it is all pre packaged and tossed together quickly, however it's outrageously expensive for portion and quality. The coffee isn't as overpriced as other chain coffee shops however it's a little costly for their quality. The only real issue in had was the service, not to be confused with the employees. Multiple times I or someone else was at the counter we had to wait whole the employees chatted to themselves and we're suddenly shocked to see a customer even after trying to get their attention. i am a very loyal caribou customer, and to start the experience off today, i ordered a iced vanilla white mocha and a chicken apple sausage sandwich. i receive my drink served hot. I politely asked if this was mine, and she replied with "yeah" and then i explained t her i had ordered this iced. She then apologized and i returned to my seat to eat my sandwich. My name was then called again, this time they present me with a iced reddish drink. I returned to my seat thinking this was indeed a vanilla iced white mocha. It wasn't. I then had to return to the counter and explain again what exactly i had ordered. when they called my name the final time, they correctly made this drink.
