After reading a bunch of reviews, I decided that I am going to dabble with this place. First off, to all you who had a bad experience, which is few, you must have slept in the dog house the previous night and to the one who said it was way too spicy, well it is Indian food and no they should not cater to a Sally that cannot handle anything spicier than ketchup! If you are ignorant to what capsaicin is and how it affects your palate, I suggest you do some research and please do not suggest that an establishment that is know to have spicy cuisine to "cater" to the bland everything deep fried palate of the EC and surrounding area! Let us spicy connoisseurs have places like this!
Although the samosa was a bit bland and lacking that pop and spicy flavor I was also looking for a sauce to accompany with them, no dice I guess. However the garlic chx was moist and not dry ++++ on that! Although I am not a tofu kinda guy I decided to turn the heat up regardless, thinking that from previous reviews it would make me sweat a bit. Again thank you Sally for not being able to handle a little heat, it tinged my pallet slightly, and I do enjoy my spiciness! None the less, the flavor was great! The basmati was cooked very well and being a huge stickler on rice (after working as an exec chef in an Asian restaurant for over a decade) I really enjoyed it! Still had a meaty texture and not overcooked or too much water added to make it too soft/mushy! Great work and I will be a...
Read moreI LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH. I should have written a review years ago because I've been coming here since they opened.
Anyways, the food here is incredible, and really decent price for the portions you get. Below I have pictured the "Any two entrees" for 9.99 and the 2pc vegetable samosas for 3.99. I can't think of another place in town that would get me this much restaurant quality food for $14.
The staff here are super friendly, and one of the guys who used to work here all the time would even ask me how I was doing, and remember my order. (Haven't seen you in a while, hope you're doing well) Also the other guys are running the shop phenomenally too!
My personal favorites: VEGETABLE SAMOSAS -Savory, spicy, filling and delicious. Always fresh
Cholay & mixed vegetables -delicious bean & vegetable based curries that taste delicious and basically are a whole meal and a half when ordered together!!
Also worth noting that the naan is incredible and always fresh as well.
Lastly, I just have to say personally thank you Mango Indian. You were the first and only Indian food to come to town since I moved here in 2015. You are a blessing to this community. Thank you for...
Read moreOn Thanksgiving Day our family wound up at the Best Western close to the Mango Indian. The roads were terrible and we almost spun out and crashed because of the ice. Our children were hungry and we were desperate to find something for them to eat, as all the stores were closed.
We called the Mango Indian hoping that they would be open, only to have a very rude and condescending man answer the phone. Very politely we asked if they were open today and he said, "What makes you think we're open, all of America is closed today."
Needless to say, my children and family heard this. They were not expecting to be spending Thanksgiving in a hotel, and now we have to explain to them that some people are just lacking in compassion and that this rude man doesn't know what they've been through today.
This is not how I would talk to potential customers if it were my business and I hope those who dine there will consider the type of person who runs this restaurant and the utter lack of compassion...
