A lady friend wanted me to let her take me to dinner for my birthday. She chose this restaurant as the place to go. We were welcomed my two very friendly door attendant's on entry to the building. In less spend 30 seconds the hostess greeted us and took us to a seat and saw to our menu needs. Very quickly our waitress reached the table and took our drink orders. When she delivered to drink order she took our appetizer order. Very promptly we were given a crabby pretzel which was amazing pretzel prepared very carefully with excellent results. It was cooked to perfection and took very little time the wait was minuscule. The appetizer was more than satisfying. For an entree I selected the 18 oz ribeye. Which by the way is butchered and prepared on site. Also when you enter you can see the chef grilling the meats through a glass wall You can also see the meats that they are serving in a showcase there. We both ordered almost identical sides steamed broccoli which was steamed to perfection and I got a baked potato my companion opted for potatoes au gratin. On first site I thought that my ribeye was a little fatty until I cut a piece and discovered the flavor was so good and the meat was so pleasantly textured and cooked exactly as I ordered it that I didn't say anything about the fattiness because I was enjoying it so much. Her filet mignon was exactly the same cooked exactly as she requested and mouth-wateringly delicious. I had only just begun to truly enjoy my meal when the manager showed up with a replacement plate for the one I had already been served because she too notice that it was a bit fatty. Now mind you I never said anything to anyone. This lady was probably the most alert and intelligent business-minded manager I had ever came across. I am certain that her replacement of my meal was motivated by two factors. One the management did not want people entering the restaurant to see a pile of fat being trimmed and piled up on the edge of my plate reason number two had to be just customer satisfaction was important. That visit by the manager and every visit by our waitress was timed to perfection. We did not get interrupted in our conversation or the enjoyment of our meal even once but it was frequent enough that our needs were met immediately. We were overheard during the meal talking about it being my birthday meal. When asked after the meal (which by the way as each saucer or plate was no longer needed at the table, it was promptly removed) our waitress asked us if we would like anything for dessert. We agreed on a very large dessert as it turns out which was Hot fudge Sunday with fresh warm brownie captured within the ice cream and hot fudge which was in a large stemware dish in the center of a plate. This dish had hot fudge poured over it to the point where it ran over the sides of the stemware and filled the plate it was setting on. The dessert was complementary because it was my birthday. In every way possible this was a awesome dining experience I cannot recommend this place more. The experience was awesome and flawless. My kudos go out to the manager and the waitress without limits.
Don't be shy about trying this place I do not believe for a second that you will be...
Read moreI was invited to a company Christmas party. We arrived at 5:45 for a 6pm reservation. We were told that they only had one area for us to sit for the amount of people. That this area was still occupied by 10 people of the previous party that arrived at 2pm! We looked and saw a few people with to go boxes and they were talking. Then we were advised it shouldn't be much longer, that they have been there for 4 hours and had finished eating hours ago.
Time went on and at 6:45 we ask the manager if she could politely ask the people to finish up or seat them in a smaller place. "company policy says we cant" remarked the manager. At this time the host of our party, irritated because his act to show appreciation was turning into a night of now where to eat, directed us to go to Stan and Joes. So we did. Stan and Joes were very accommodating without reservation.
Okay here is the joke about "Company Policy".......All homeless people could go here and order coffee for 2$, take up space all day and stay warm without a single employee or manager asking them to leave. It would be a shame if homeless people found out about this policy because then there would be no room for other patrons. Then maybe this restaurant could be a soup kitchen. Unless this Steakhouse would discriminate and would ask the homeless to leave....
This Steakhouse allowed 36 people with reservation walk out the door. Thirty six(36) people never to suggest a party at the Steakhouse. Thirty six(36) people walk out with a bad taste in there mouth(not the food) because they aren't allowed to politely rectify the situation. Do the math 36 people, averaged dinner 19.99 with appetizers and drinks(alcohol).
In all fairness the manager did comp. any drinks ordered while we waited.
I hope from this that the owner would read this review, possibly review company policy, and give a call to Jeff at Edgewater Fitness to apologize because if it wasn't for Stan and Joes, Jeff would have had to make his dinner of appreciation for his employees into a dinner of...
Read moreWent to dinner last night with my son his half brother and his two best friends. These are21/ 23 year old guys who like to eat. I would just like to say horrible service. We ordered drinks and asked for lemons with the teas. The drinks came just water, soda and teas and she had no idea who ordered what. I ordered a bowl of French onion and the guys ordered appetizers. The appetizers came still no soup. I had to say where's my soup loud enough for someone to go get it. Then I went to order prime rib which because I waitressed and bartender for many years, I know is an item that runs out quickly or there may be only a certain temperature left. So I asked specifically do you have prime rib. She said yes. A young man ordered teriyaki wings she comes back once to tell us there was no prime rib , I then ordered NY strip med rare with broccoli and a baked sweet potatoes. She comes back again to.tell us they are out of teriyaki sauce. When our food comes my broccoli was so cold butter would not melt on it and the steak was rare and cold, I mean seriously cold. I just had it boxed up and recorded it today for lunch. With covid I did not ask them to warm it because I did not believe plates should go back and forth from the kitchen. Then she never comes back after the food runners delivers the food. So when she does she puts the check on the table and I ask may we order dessert and she says we are closed. I was so disappointed in her service. Where was the table visit that said, "hey guys, would you care for some dessert before the kitchen closes?" So I ask can we get it togo? All of which makes a check larger which in turn usually grants a larger tip. She has to go ask if she can get it to go. She says yes, we order then comes back and says sorry we are out of cookies. By this point I just wanted to leave. My son said the girl had worked there for years. You would have thought it was her first...
