Ur Burger updated review Sept 2024 I try to be as positive as I can, Especially if I like the place. Although I have been to UR Burger several times, sometimes it’s a hit and miss. First time I went, I had a burger. It was pretty decent… A little overcooked, so they sent it back and brought another one. We’ve also been there a few times for breakfast, not too bad. But some things can be greasy, and home fries overcooked and dry! But this review is on Today! Read ON! We got three burgers, some sweet potato fries, broccoli, which was in a bowl of water and a bit overcooked, some green beans, tea and root beer for drinks! Let’s start with the green beans. There was an issue! We tasted the green beans and they were kind of sour and had an awful taste. We really couldn’t put our finger on it. But they tasted bad! They looked fine but the taste was off… the waitress didn’t know. Turns out, The oil was a bit old, so The manager I think, made a new batch with fresh oil and brought it out for us to taste, totally 100% better… no bitter, sour, weird taste! 👍 They could’ve just let us be and said, “that’s the way it is” but at least they changed it. And now customers won’t be eating food cooked in old oil. Shew! 😰 Back to the review, we got three different burgers. I got the Rufus, my wife’s sister got a smash burger, And my wife got the avocado burger. On top of that we got some sides, which I’ll have to say we probably shouldn’t have. 😣Sides weren’t cooked as well as they could have been. The burgers were OK. Mine, the Rufus was actually a pretty decent burger, lots of pork on top with two patties. But, between that and the sweet potato fries, there was quite a bit of oil, my hands were greasy. I don’t mind a greasy burger now and then but when there’s too much of it, it’s hard to enjoy. None of the burgers were cooked medium rare. The burgers were eaten, but Still slightly overcooked more than what we wanted. We did eat all the burgers, so that should tell you something, at least they’re pretty good. The sides were really bad today, I have to say. The green beans you know about, my sweet potato fries were okay, a little greasy, the other half soggy and some were cold. The flavor was there. I wish they were a little more crispy and less oily. Broccoli? It looks like it was boiled… or over steamed, Sitting in a puddle of water and soggy… They should’ve known that before they sent it out. 😕 They did bring a salad in exchange for the bad green beans. But the salad wasn’t much better. On a positive note! This place does its own barbecue in house and I’ll have to say the barbecue is pretty much far better than most things that they serve. The pulled pork on my burger was tasty and perfect add to the Rufus burger I got. But they definitely need to check things before they’re sent out. And should check their oil often to make sure it’s not rancid. We didn’t get any special offers for the situation. Just an extra salad to replace the green beans. Sending out food with bad oil should’ve never happened. Sending out broccoli that is well overcooked and soggy should’ve never happened. All that grease could’ve been avoided. Like I said before I don’t mind a good greasy burger, but IF it’s on the burger. The fries should be light and crispy, maybe next time? All right, that is my review for this time. I will say the other times I’ve been there and the one time I ordered take-out it wasn’t bad… Like I said, sometimes it’s a hit and miss depending on who’s cooking and making the food. Thanks for stopping by and checking out this review, don’t forget to check back for more! If I go there again and the food experience is better than this time, I will definitely change my review. There definitely are some changes that need to be made....
Read moreI'm updating my review from 2016 as we've come back in a couple times recently since the initial visit. My how things have changed! In a good way!
One morning we happened to notice that UR Burger also served breakfast. We decided to try it out and the food was very good. There was a nice variety of breakfast options and the portions were fairly generous.
While visiting, some things had changed since our first visit: On-site dining was now table service...we didn't have to place our order at the register any more; there are now servers that come to you to take your order (service was great!) There was a bit of a facelift throughout the space. Wood (laminate?) flooring was now in place and it helped make the space feel "cozier" The menu had also otherwise expanded into other offerings than just burgers, including some BBQ items.
This led us to come back and try some other stuff on the menu. We did so this past weekend and I did try another burger...it was cooked properly, the burger itself seemed a bit larger than before, and it seemed to provide better value as a result. My fiancé got a fish sandwich and she said that was good, particularly the tequila lime sauce that it came dressed with.
The service was still excellent; our food came out pretty quick, and everything is just reasonably priced.
2016 Review: My girlfriend and I came in here for the first time this past Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was around 1:30 and the place wasn't very busy. There were only about 4 other tables occupied and 2 people sitting at the bar. The place is a pretty decent size too. Plenty of room. The atmosphere in here would be nice for a sports bar type of feel though personally I'm not crazy about concrete for floors. There were 3 TVs (maybe 4?) located throughout the restaurant...one at the bar and the others were in the dining area.
We ordered our burgers upon entrance. The primary idea of this establishment is to build a burger your way, from the ground up. You can pick everything...bun or a lettuce wrap, what type of meat, what type of cheese, and toppings. There are a few "pre-assembled" burger choices but the selection is fairly limited and none of those appealed to me on this particular visit. We also ordered the loaded fries from the appetizer menu. I completely missed the appetizer menu; my girlfriend spotted this section and noticed the loaded fries. Otherwise I would've just ordered the regular side of fries. We also ordered a couple fountain drinks - there only seems to be the one 12-ounce size but you can refill.
We then took a table and waited for the food...it didn't take too terribly long for the order to come out; maybe 10 minutes. The burgers were good, though overcooked. We asked for medium; they came out as well done (no pink to them at all). As far as size goes, they were a decent size but for the price, they could've been a bit bigger.
The loaded fries were okay...all they had on them was bacon bits and what appeared to be cheese sauce. Honestly, I was expecting a bit more for "loaded."
Overall, not bad. I'll round up and say 4 stars...but if it would let me, I would go more...
Read morePrepare to be bouncing off the walls in this establishment which should rightfully be called “food heaven”. Now trust me I have had some good food before: the krabby patty, milkshakes at weenie hut jrs, The frying Dutchman, but nothing compares to this place. The second me AND my wife with our 8 kids walked in we were greeted with the warmth you would only receive at a gentleman’s club or a Chinese massage parlor. I was frustrated this day because my job Walgreens laid me off and my kids wouldn’t shut up but the manager made all that stress go away when he had the kids sit outside so me and my wife could eat and drink at the bar. I started off getting French fries with and 5 Sam Adams between me and my wife. The French fries were amazing as they came out 1.53 seconds after I ordered them, and were also amazing. For the main course me and my wife ordered two of their create your own burgers, both extra extra rare with pickles, and a pitcher of mimosas. Sure enough not even 2 seconds later the burgers were right there in front of us, I was just astonished. One bite into my burger and the manager had to come over and give me mouth to mouth because I had died and drifted off into the pearly gates. What more could be said about our bartender than that she was the sweetest most loving mistress we had ever had the pleasure of being served by, with her contagious smile and hair that looked like a dragons mange, I could go on and on. Also the prices were extremely reasonable and the manager even gave me a free tube of chapstick since it was my first time there. Me and my wife will absolutely be coming back to this awesome, awesome...
