I've been here a few times and my food has always been delicious. I give it 3 stars because someone's food is always wrong. One waitress, very nice, however, one time I had to write everyone's food order down because she never came to get our order ever again after one drink. And we waited probably 30+ minutes. We had a party of 12, so the men sat at one table and the women at another. The men were done their food by the time we had ours rung in. Then the last time we were there she rang everyone up for bottomless drinks and we never finished the 1 drink that each of us got. Definitely not bottomless. We all ordered a side meat and never got it. And then we tried to do a breakfast shot. Still never got that either. I tried to get the bottomless drinks off the bill, and she only fixed one of the 3. The food and shots we never received, she probably never typed it all in even though we asked for them twice. We have had other really good wait staff there. But I dont think I can go back anymore because I've had her too many times. And even if we don't get her generally something comes out wrong. However I can not stress enough how good their food is. Maybe sit at the bar or something. Of the 6 times I've been here only 2 of them have had everything go smoothly with the right food and good service. I think I'm done giving this...
Read moreMy husband and I come to this place a few times a month to eat. (We're in last night!) Never once had a bad meal. We are both huge foodies, and in our opinion they have the best burgers we have ever eaten. Anywhere. Better than any other sit down restaurant and yes better than 5 guys or sonic. I literally find myself craving the Tavern burger sometimes, that's how good it is. The steak and cheese egg rolls are TO DIE FOR. I wish they came with 6 or 8 on a plate because I'd eat them as a meal alone.
Also NEVER SKIP THE DESSERTS. Yesterday we were the first ones to order the Reese's cheesecake special they had this week. It was SO GOOD. And the chef brought it out with a huge smile on his face and looked very proud of what he created. And should be!!
Also the staff is SO NICE. They all genuinely seem to love their jobs and they are very warm and always will ask if they can get you things.
Overall, coopers tavern is probably our favorite restaurant in southern Maryland. Worth every penny, worth the drive. I waited a while to actually write this review to see if the quality thing was just a fluke. It's not. This place should be treasured as a landmark in Maryland. Thank you to everyone who works there, because yes the food is very very good, but the passion and kindness of the staff...
Read moreI really enjoyed Cooper's Tavern. The location is easy to get to and parking was not a problem. I had the fried pickles which were delicious. The Cajun dipping sauce was spot on. We also ordered the crab dip and put some on the fried pickles. Delicious! The atmosphere was nice with badges from officers from around Maryland and military flags on the walls. There were families eating there too. High tables and low tables adorned the floor and there is a bar area as well. So the food and atmosphere were on point. I dinged the service a bit, due to what appeared to be a staff member making fun of a patron. An older gentleman with a cane walked in and said he was going to sit at the bar. As he slowly made his way to the other end of the restaurant, the staff member could be seen imitating him for the way he walked. It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth to see the staff doing that. He is a paying customer and didn't deserve that kind of treatment. I don't know if they knew each other or what the case was but either way I found it unacceptable. Although I will be back I hope this finds its way to the owner and they address this misconduct. I will gladly update my review if it is fixed to reflect a higher...
