Rotten Christmas experience. Called before we left and asked if we needed to make a reservation. "How many?" "Two." "No need for two. Just walk in." We arrived about :35 later. Lobby a madhouse, stuffed with people standing and waiting. Only 3 chairs for people to sit, and they were taken. Finally managed to get to the counter to give our names. Two people, one giant, fat, seated woman, and one very thin, sour faced, standing man. Neither looked up or acknowledged us. I bent down and put my face near the woman's. "How long for two people?" "Twenty minutes." She didn't take our name or give us a number. Odd. We waited. Almost everyone waiting proceeded to walk up to the counter several times to ask how much longer. After :15 of waiting NO ONE looked at or acknowledged us, so I approached the thin, sour-faced man. "How much longer?" "Thirty minutes." I said, "No, the lady told us twenty minutes fifteen minutes ago. How much longer NOW?" He just looked at me. Eventually I spoke to the fat lady again (the fat lady and thin man kept coming and going into the seated area, and waiters were walking through the waiting crowd with full plates of food to deliver, so it was very confusing). I told her we'd been waiting :20 and asked how much longer. She said they would see if we could be seated in a room that had been booked by a private party. We waited some more. By now the 3 VERY old people who were waiting when we first arrived made their way slowly up to the counter to find out when they might be seated. 4 young Asian men approached the woman and said they'd been waiting a long time, but they'd come in just after us, yet were seated w/in 3 minutes of complaining. A group of 3 people who came in about :30 after us (after the fat woman said she would see if we could be seated in the private room) were whisked past everyone and seated right away. A family of 4 adults (mother, father, and two grand parents) with two young children who were there when we first arrived were STILL waiting. Finally I made my husband ask the fat woman (whose fat daughter was in and out in back of the counter and who we asked when we'd be seated, as well) when we would be seated. This was after about :40 of waiting. After asking her daughter, she said the people in the private room said, "No". Talk about Christmas cheer. At the :40 Mark the party of 3 old people were finally taken into the dining room. I said to my husband, "Let's just leave," but he thought since we'd waited so long we would be seated soon. I'd looked into the dining room and had only seen large tables and no small ones, and didn't think our chances were good. I said, "I'm leaving in 3 minutes if we're not seated." Went outside, searched on my phone, and found an open (no wait) Turkish restaurant 7 minutes away. Walked back in and said, "Let's go." No one looked at us, apologized, nothing. It was like we were invisible. We've never eaten there and despite the good reviews for the food, will NEVER go back. This was the nightmare...

Ordered the Peking Duck Dinner Special as take out today. This was my first time trying this place and I will never be returning again. Here's why: When I called to order, I specifically asked her to save the duck bones for me since I like to make soup base with it. She agreed and hung up. I arrived and I paid for my order first as the food was not ready yet. On their website, it states it is $49.95 she charges me $59.70 I asked, "Oh, did your prices go up? Your website menu did not reflect that." She said yes it did and some bogus reasoning behind it. Whatever, it bothered me but I didn't want to make a big deal. I asked her to just make sure to wrap up the duck bones as I had asked on the phone. She really gave me a hard time about it, so much so that the older lady next to her yelled at her in Chinese. She then proceeded to give the OK.

By this time, I just want to really just get my food and go. I'm paying $60 for a whole duck meal, what is the big deal about giving me the bones. Other places do not think twice about it. Once I got home, I opened up the package and the portion of the duck was RIDICULOUS. This looked like a half-duck order. I have had Peking Duck numerous times from other spots, the portioning was just so sad and everything looked like half of it was missing. I called and told her I was just not happy with the whole experience and the portioning is not worth the amount of money I am spending. She starts screaming on the phone immediately and states "Are you trying to get a free meal or something?!" Ugh, I was just so disgusted with her attitude and not to mention I felt scammed that she charged me more in the first place. I should have just left when she upped the price like that on me in the first place.

The owner then must have taken the phone from her and apologized profusely, but the damage was already done. I let her know that I was planning to leave this negative review so here it is. I am never returning, nor referring anyone here. The food, service, attitude and flavor...

I was not impressed with this place at all. First of all, the delivery person was really rude. She called and told me she was there but then when I went down to the door I didn't see anyone there. I waited a minute and looked around but still didn't see anyone so I went back upstairs and called her. She told me she had been parking her car but was there now. Um ok then why not just wait to call me until you were actually at my door? And the worst part is she was rude about it & had a mini attitude when she should've been apologizing for making me go down to my door for nothing! Then she gave me the food and I thanked her and told her to have a good night and she couldn't even be bothered to say it back! I'm sorry but I just really can't stand when people are rude for no reason, it's a pet peeve of mine. As for the food itself, I was also very underwhelmed. I had asked for extra duck sauce and only got 1 packet despite the guy repeating it back to me when I asked for it. On top of that it was WAY overpriced, $16 for sesame chicken???? I was expecting it to be really good for that price but instead it was dry and actually made me kind of nauseous (though I'm going through health issues so can't completely blame the food for that). Anyway I will not be ordering from them again and wouldn't recommend this...

I am Chinese and have eaten Chinese food all my life. I am not one to usually go on the internet and complain about my experiences at places but this place is an insult to Chinese food. How do you name yourself “Duck King” but screw up the one thing u should be good at. They give half a duck for a full order. We ordered a full Peking duck and they gave us half. This place tries to scam customers and it’s blatant. They never showed us the duck beforehand like every other Chinese restaurant that serves Peking duck would. When we asked “where’s the rest of the duck” the server got more and more irritated and came back with her phone to show us a picture of the duck that we supposedly got. Well, did the Peking duck even taste good? NO it was not good. There was no meat it was just skin and fat. Another table got served Peking duck at the same time and we are certain that’s the other half of it. Portions are hilariously small. Entrees should be big enough to share between the table. However, the dishes were all personal portion sizes. The soup dumplings had no soup, wrapper was too thick and meat was too chewy and hard. Please stay away from this place. They are scamming customers. We took a picture of the Peking duck. That’s a funny looking “whole” duck if you ask me.

If I could give zero stars I would. The portions are extremely small if you go to Chinatown in NY you would get the same price for double - triple the portion. This place is not worth it. Also the peking duck was a ripoff. What we got was half a duck it was not a full duck because when I make it at home and go out there’s even more meat than what they gave us. I almost guarantee that the duck was split in half with the table near us. Also there was even more skin than meat and it was way too oily. The atmosphere was terrible since there was a dead fly on our table. The service was also terrible since she had an attitude the whole time and she even decided to take out her phone to show us a picture of bones?? Don’t spend your money here. The foods oily, portions are small, and we spent 55 dollars on half a duck with more skin than meat. Also don’t get the soup dumplings there’s no soup in them atp you should just stick to dumplings but wouldn’t be so sure they would taste good either. :)

It was my first time trying duck and it was the worst, that duck was more flour and skin than meat. It didn't look good, the shrimp dumplings had a bad taste and the rice with pineapple was horrible, no color, the shrimp must have been raw because my sister came home vomiting and with a terrible stomach ache. There was no people in the restaurant, I thought it was because we went early but after seeing the food, I have no doubt that it was the food, the place, the service, all of it. On the outside the building looks really in bad shape, SOMEBODY PLEASE DO SOMETHING AND CLOSE THIS PLACE, it's hazardous to your health. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!
