My wife and I have passed down River Road in Edgewater countless of times, on our way to Mitswua or Edgewater Cinema and we’ve never noticed this place called Namaste. Well allow me to say that it’s a shame we’ve never been there before, because this place is amazing, the service is fantastic, and the dining is superb. I am so glad that Groupon is around to show us these tasty gems. I’ll start by explaining in detail yesterday’s dining experience.
We were served by Anchal and Arjun. The two friendliest and cordial folks we’ve ever met. They made us feel welcomed.
Appetizers, my wife and I ordered the Chicken Lollipops in Nepali sauce. This appetizer was more than enough for two folks, it was extremely tasty and well presented.
For drinks I got me a Mango Lassi, my wife on the other hand opted for a more common drink a Sprite on the rocks lol.
For entrees, we decided on Lamb Korma and Shrimp Saag, with garlic nan and onion kulcha. The entrees were huge portions. The Lamb was so tender and juicy. The Korma sauce was perfect, not too spicy and not under spicy either. Shrimp Saag was delectable, with the creamy spinach Saag sauce. I love the fact that they remove the shell from the Shrimp’s tail, a nice touch!
After we finished our meal I wanted to purchase and extra rice to take home with our leftover meals (they were plenty of leftover), Anchal offered to give us a side order of rice for free, and she offered to give us a free Kheer (a sweet delicious rice pudding). When we got home we noticed that we did not have our extra side rice, but we did see the Kheer, it doesn’t matter as the Kheer made up for it.
We will most definitely come back again and enjoy more of Anchal’s and Arjun’s excellent service and...

A recent visit to Namaste, now renamed '7SIS 1BRO INDIAN KITCHEN," made me realize that the restaurant has changed, not only in name, but in everything else too. AND NOT FOR THE BETTER! These days, the food is totally different: the flavors are not what they used to be; the ingredients are not exactly better ingredients and the food portions are smaller than what they used to be. Even the menu changed, and not only the look of it. Some of my favorite dishes of the past were left out on the new menu, which has been designed and structured in a way that's not consumer-friendly. As shockingly as this sounds, '7Sis 1Bro' does NOT serve the usual Indian appetizers it used to offer anymore. In a private conversation with the owner, at the end of my dinner, I expressed all these concerns and my worries that, unless he reversed course and find a better way, I was afraid that his restaurant might not survive. I'm very conflicted about changing my previous rating, because I genuinely liked this establishment and its owner was always very kind and appreciative of me and my friends, in my frequent (almost weekly) dining visits to Namaste. Let it be known that I want nothing but success to him and his family. On the other hand, I feel it's not ethical for me to mislead customers that may patronize this establishment thinking they will have the same experiences I had in the past. Sorry.

Read moreFirst, I'm slightly biased as an American-adopted Nepali, that would love to have more access to Nepali food and culture. I'm not an expert on authenticity by any means, but I know what I like and I am definitely a fan of the incredible mix of flavors and spices provided by Namaste. We were greeted by warm smiles and provided guided suggestions on the menu, which we will definitely return to try those items we weren't able to sample. Having read other reviews, we stopped ahead to pick up a bottle of white wine (BYOB restaurant, FYI - we stopped at Wine and Spirits in edgewater) and our server checked to ensure it was appropriately chilled and provided glasses without our needing to ask. We ordered the Chicken Pokara to start which came pretty quickly and tasted great. The Chicken Choila is on our list to check out next time. Then I ordered the Momos and my date opted for the Lamb Korma, of which we planned on sharing everything, and ended up fighting over the Korma. Luckily we had ordered the Garlic Naan, because that sauce is AMAZING and you are going to want to sop up every bit of that deliciousness. The Naan was good enough to eat on its own. Will definitely be back and scanning the reviews for more suggestions to start working through this menu on. I hope this place stays for years to come! It's definitely on my list of staple restaurants to go to for all occasions... Perfect date night/celebration location though. Just note, parking is on the street and can be a pain. It is so very worth...
