Fish N Chips? It’s not on the online menu , so I called and ask about it , She said all fried fish is the same and It comes with two sides such as Homemade Fires , Baked Potato , Rice , or Vegetables. The homemade fries sounded good , and so did Halibut. For the second side how about we go with a baked potato. She took my order and said it would be about 20 minutes. I never did find out how much.. but it’s the same as the other fired fish right?
When I got there I didn’t know where the entrance was, there is no Entrance sign or Welcome sign out front. So I walked down some steps to what looked like a back door and went it. I didn’t care much for the atmosphere as far as restaurants go , to me the place looked more like pub with cheap tables and karaoke on Tuesday night.
When I paid for my meal I found they charged me almost twice as much for it , compared to the other fried fish on the menu , so I guess it’s really not all the same, is it. Had I known it was going to be that much I would have ordered the filet mignon , or seafood combo.
Beyond that... the Halibut looked like it came out of a frozen bag and it tasted bland , The fries were hardened in the middle just like frozen fries would be , The baked potato was okay , although it was not baked in the oven and it did notcome with any chives. The crab cake balls were overcooked and dried out , not much flavor. If only they had make them smaller …or it into a paddy instead then there would be no need to overcooked them. The big disappointment here was the Halibut , but it's my fault really. I should have known North Pacific Halibut doesnt come fresh off the boat over...
Read moreI would recommend this restaurant because the fish was cooked well and the spices was excellent. Delicious salmon.
The Restaurant was busy. A family member went inside to ask for the Accessible Entrance. A lot of customers leaving but we haven’t had no one tell us where to enter. Waited for a while until one of the waitress came outside to tell us where to enter. Through the kitchen, not the best entrance for customers. Entering the dinning area we saw empty tables in the dining room but we couldn’t seat there. (I don’t know why) We had to wait for the family that was finishing their dinner (table was right next to the kitchen where we entered with a wheelchair. Finally sat down, ordered appetizers butterfly shrimps, artichoke dip, soup and salad. The appetizers came but the waitress forgot to give us silverware and water. We couldn’t find our waitress. I had to stop one of the waitress for silverware. She was kind enough to get the silverware right away. That was disappointing, my family and I was visiting the area and the restaurant was highly recommended. The waitress we had need to be more attentive to her customers.
Food was good, salmon and Mahi was perfectly cooked and spiced to my taste. Kids and my parents liked the soup. I will gave JC’s Riptide a 5 star on their food. Soup, salad, appetizer butterfly shrimp, artichoke dip, blackened salmon, blackened mahi with rice but the steam vegetables were to mushy. Needs improvements on attentiveness in customer service. Making sure their is Accessible Entrance. Hopefully next visit will be a...
Read moreI'm not in the habit of giving an overall bad review, but this was by far the worst meal I have ever eaten. We heard that Riptides was a phenomenal resteraunt from so many! To my dismay it turned out to be awful. My husband and I have date night once a week and were in the mood for Prime Rib. To begin my meal I ordered a salad, simple enough but difficult for them apparently, mostly core iceberg lettuce that tasted like none of the vegetables had been washed. It had a gritty small slice of tomato, and 2 cucumber slices that were bitter, just not good at all Although I only took 2 bites out of my Prime Rib it looked like I ate more because of all the grit and fat and chewing it was like chewing stale gum. The black pile of muck on my plate I'm assuming was supposed to be the seasoned rub for the meat, and there was an overwhelming taste of liquid smoke. Server was nice but, after asking us if there was anything else she could bring us when dropping off our plates, I could only say malt vinegar for my husband's fries and ketchup, before she took off, I also was going to order a glass of unsweetened tea and needed more butter for my potato. (Baked Potato was good) Overall atmosphere was pleasant and others seemed to be enjoying their meals of fried fish and seafood. I didn't complain paid our bill and brought a to go box home. No need for me to ruin everyone else's night over a bad meal! Needless to say iffy on 2nd chances when the simplest of dishes (salad) isn't...
