China Star — Restaurant in Edgewood

Ordered pickup for 6:55, didn’t receive food until 7:30. Showed up and was told it was picked up before us. Mistakes happen so no worries but then my girlfriend was told they did not receive the order whatsoever a few minutes later. Upon showing receipts of the order they told her to hold on as they look into it. 15 minutes go by with no regard to check on the customer or update them. Still at work, I personally called to see what’s going on, was told they did indeed receive the order they just weren’t familiar with their operating systems and had an error. By now girlfriends been waiting at the restaurant for over thirty minutes. A refund request was made and was told that since she already left with the order there was nothing they could do. Girlfriend overheard them mention this to me on the phone before she was given the food. Overall just very disappointed in the customer experience as we were lied to multiple times about the order. Will never recommend as nobody would like to have their order messed up numerous times, lied too about it, and then be given...

the food was decent, however the service ? not good . the lady kept obsessing over my son having his drink (with a lid) on his chair . mind you my leg was there to block it from falling and i was paying attention. my problem was when we were leaving , i had to split the payment on 2 separate cards . she didn’t know we were doing a cash tip . this lady slammed the pen down on the table and stormed off . as we were leaving my kids were saying bye and telling her thank you , she didn’t wave literally NO acknowledgment what so ever . i was going to let it go until she ignored my babies like that. incredibly rude behavior all because she THOUGHT she wasn’t getting a tip , i did come back in and calmly explain to her how rude that was hopefully she fixes her attitude in the future ,that was a bad...

I thought maybe the staff might not be friendly, but a young man came out promptly and took our order. The food arrived pretty quickly and it was EXCELLENT! The Wonton and Hot & Sour soups were especially tasty- we ordered more of both to take home. My General Tso's Chicken and My Lady's Hunan Chicken were both very good, too. The fried rice side item had meat and other ingredients as well, unusual for most Asian restaurants. The price was not a bargain but not outrageous either.
