Used to love this store (as I used to work there), but they botched the suits for my wedding so bad that I’ll never return to any Jos. A Bank store in the future. They sold one of our groomsmen the wrong suit (color, style, etc.) which we were not aware of until the day of the wedding.
When I contacted the store by phone, the woman who I spoke to tried to place the blame on me for “not checking” thoroughly before hand. This escalated into a full on verbal argument due to her incessant attitude and sarcasm. She then proceeded to hang up on me after I made it clear that this was in no way anyone’s fault but the specific store.
After contacting corporate I was told that the store manager would be reaching out to me to resolve the situation in some capacity. That call never came. After contacting corporate a second time, I was told that the suit could be returned and a refund would be issued. When my groomsman tried to return his incorrect suit in store, the store manger told him was wasn’t able to do so.
At that point, the back and forth between myself and corporate uncovered some major lies being told by the store manager. These included excuses such as:
My groomsman didn’t work with an associate and purchased the incorrect suit willingly. (We have the party number records, suit receipt, and tailoring receipt all associated with our wedding party to prove this is a lie.
The employee that assisted him was only part time and was no longer employed with the company, so they were not responsible
The suit was stained and damaged. (The suit was never worn, let alone damaged. This was also a lie that was disproved with a few pictures emailed to corporate).
If they took the return, it would look bad on the store and since they weren’t “responsible.”
I have never received such terrible customer service. As someone who has worked in that role previously and oversaw quite a few weddings, it’s shocking to see the amount of incompetence coming from one store. They’re certainly not a store you should trust with anything important. Mistakes will be made and nothing will be done to make things right.
Thank you to all of the corporate reps who helped remedy this situation by issuing a refund. I’m happy to know that corporate is aware of the lies and excuses from this store, and the fact that they’ll be held accountable.
In short, go...
Read moreReally really really bad experience. I go into this place not knowing what to expect. I usually shop at brooks brothers but I put on some weight and I needed a last minute suit for a wedding. I came in expecting to pay whatever didn’t even matter. I was helped by Drew which was funny at first because that is also my name. He quickly helped me but it was obvious he kind of had an attitude I explained my situation and what I needed. I picked a suit and shirt and was told everything would be ready 3pm .... 30 mins before the wedding. I was fine with that.. but when I came back at 3pm I’m a time crunch it was like I never came in and bought anything. All the same people who were there before stood around and acted as if I never even existed. Which is weird because it was a ghost town which is now not unbecoming in me because of the huge lack of customer service. Which is the only thing keeping them in business. Anyways. I walked for help from the same gentlemen that helped me at first Drew. He stood there for 10 mins looking at a computer supposedly helping another customer who was also being helped by someone else.. granted it’s now 20 mins before the start of this wedding and I’m not dressed. Another employee. Asks me if I need help I tell her I have a pick up and it takes her less than 2 seconds to go grab it. Then I find out the shirt I though I purchased earlier with my suit was not apart of my stuff. So obviously this is 15 mins before A VERY IMPORTANT WEDDING!!!! And I am still not dressed I wasted $350 on a $50 suit for zero service and then the manager game me attitude after complaining about my experience and explaining that I own a business and I was disgusted by her poor management and lack of work. She laughed and said oh honey I like the way you think as to undermine my intelligence. You work at a glorified bridal shop sit...
Read moreI took my son to Joseph A Banks to get a new suit for an upcoming Wedding. We arrived right as they opened, which was a good idea. They were having a suit sale that day so luck was on our side. I now know why my Husband buys all his suits here, their service, selection and prices! We were immediately greeted at the door by a kind, helpful & very knowledgeable young man named Jayden. He asked why we were there and what we were looking for. We told him we needed a suit for next weekend and understood that we would not be able to get it hemmed if needed due to the time restrictions. He told us that we could come back at any time (with the receipt) and get it hemmed, but it ended up fitting him perfectly! He spent the next almost hour helping us choose the right fit, length jacket and so on. He did not push us at all into getting a new shirt, but he did measure his neck to make sure we bought the correct size if we needed a shirt and he picked one to try on with the suit. We did end up buying everything; shirt, tie, belt, pocket square & shoes. Once we saw the whole outfit together, I could NOT pass it up! And the shoes were also on sale! BTW these were the sharpest looking shoes I've ever seen! My son's an Ohio State fan and they had a Grey lining around the edge...he had to have his Scarlett and Grey showing somehow. (Scarlett tie and pocket square & grey lining on the shoes) I can honestly say that it was the most pleasant shopping experience I've EVER had with my son! And I'd like to throw in a special thanks to Jayden for taking his time with us. They were quite busy and he was definitely multitasking but he made us seem like his #1 priority. You've got a great employee, it's nice to see someone take such pride...
