This place needs to make its mind up on what it is. Even the name on Google has Brewing-Kitchen-Rawbar in the title. Completely unnecessary mouthful.
First thing it's not much of a Brewery, the selection is small, super underwhelming selection. The other thing is this place has table service, so why is Brewing listed first??? If I'm going to a brewery, I'm assuming I order at the bar spend as much time as I want chilling with friends and not having a server coming around making us feel like we need to constantly order more food or drinks. Bottom line is Brewing needs to be taken off the name or not listed first.
Second the food, it was OKAY but nothing that impressive. The best bet is probably the pizza, but anything else is just greasy and not that appealing. If you are going to go with a simple basic menu you better get it right.
I didn't try anything from the Rawbar but honestly I would never risk raw food at a place that doesn't put much heart into anything they do.
The service was lacking at best, not very welcoming and there too much sometimes but then gone when you need their attention.
I honestly think I would pick a chain restaurant with a larger brew selection over this, and I really don't care for chain...
Read moreWelcome change from the previous brewery. I affectionately called it the playpen because it used to be overrun with kids and dogs. It was a total madhouse. Some people might be sad about that, others like me, well…are elated. Much quieter experience, more refined. That being said, the interior has updated quite a bit and gives a pleasing aesthetic for sure. Happy to report the pizza oven is still there and turns out some delicious pies. They’ve added a raw bar and transformed the outdoor area nicely. The menu is, for me, kinda all over the place. I had read it was Southern cuisine somewhere, but I struggled a bit really seeing that shine in the menu. There’s pimento so that’s a start. The beers (at the time of my visit) are Italian and Belgium so I felt it just needed a little more cohesiveness with southern style foods. The happy hour window was very short and offered $1 off beers. I think it could be better and I didn’t see it advertised on their website. It would draw me back. When you click on the “about us” section of their website you get a 404 error. Just a little detail that’s...
Read moreWe were big fans of Gatlin Hall, and honestly a little upset that the concept was getting changed. But we'll admit, we were wrong. Don't be fooled by the moniker, Runabout is all about the food and atmosphere, not your typical "Brewery." It's more affordable than it appears. We went to happy hour and had 18 oysters, 2 very good burgers, and 2 beers for $65. That's a great deal anyway you slice it. We very much like the varieties of oysters we've been served there, and the garnishes are the best I've ever had with oysters. Great service and a beatiful plant-forward patio. After a bunch of closings in 2024, we're happy our new favorite restaurant in Orlando is right...
