That Wing Spot — Restaurant in Edgewood

When I review anything I try to combine both my own subjective tastes with evaluating if I think others would like it. I think this is a unique spot that is worth a try to get something a bit different than you average bar wings. I will be back again and would recommend others to give it a try.

Pro: customer service was good. Even pointing out some of the more popular items since it was my first time there. the wings labeled hot are actually hot. Keep this in mind if you are used to the tones down average wing and order according to your tastes. you can tell the sauces are their own recipe and are unique. -wing size and fries size was exactly what you should expect from a wing spot. Often wing spots today are serving small wings and fries portions.

Cons: this is not the restaurants fault but tik tok and Instagram have done what they always do and over hype. Please understand that I'm not saying this place is not good. maybe slightly over sauced for my taste. would like to see a bit wider variety of unique takes on sauces. Maybe as a special and trial monthly and add the ones that work with the customer. Mango habanero, general tso's , ya know, something that would continue to make their unique take on sauces grow.

Ordered: 10pcs hot lemon pepper: 6/10 rating legit hot. That is a pro for me but may be hotter than some thought it would be. felt this was particularly over sauced. Not sure if it was just my batch of this is standard. flavor was good but I did feel the lemon pepper and the hot sort of the sauce didn't fully compliment each other. I would say that is my taste though and I would think most would like these if you like legit hot wings. wings crispy and tender on the inside; not over cooked and what I feel some places sell which is damn near a dehydrated wing. I don't think I personally would order this item again. But again, I'm sure many people love this sauce.

Ranch: 9/10 fresh and unique. -complimented everything I ordered and would recommend ordering an extra side if you are a ranch person.

Fries: 7/10. So hard to rate these properly and I would suggest giving them a try and splitting it with someone. I personally would only order again if splitting due to portion and the slight overpowering of the rub. unique bbq chip type taste sweeter than I thought they would be, but due to the level of heat in the wings , I actually feel it worked well in the whole meal. tasted good in ketchup and the ranch.

That hot buffalo: 9/10 legit hot and that is important for me. flavor was good and paired so well with the ranch. crispy and tender inside. would personally suggest this wing based on my personal taste.

All in all, check them out. If they could get on the new sauce train, even if temporary type specials, I would be a consistent customer trying these new takes on their style if this...

I found them on TikTok a few months ago and finally decided to make the drive from Tallahassee and it was worth every mile. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the manager, he asked me and my mom our names and remembered them throughout the entire time we were there. He explained their entire 72 hour process of making the wings and his favorite sauces and rubs. I got a 15 piece combo which was only supposed to come with 1 flavor but he let me get 2 flavors (fire buffalo and garlic parm) and he also upgraded my fries to their secret rub for free. My mom got the 10 piece (smokey bbq) and he also upgraded her fries to the secret rub for free. The food took no more than 5 minutes to come out, it was brought to us by the cook who was also very pleasant. When we opened our bag out ranch and blue cheese was in a box with “thank you Jacob and Tracy” written on it which was very kind and appreciated. The garlic parm was the greatest wing I’ve ever had, tons of flavor, extremely crispy on the outside with out dry the meat out on the inside which was super tender and juicy. The fire buffalo was actually spicy which I loved since usually when I order hot wings I don’t find them spicy. The secret rub fries where absolutely perfect, heavily seasoned, crispy but fluffy on the inside, the rub on them was one of the best tasting things I’ve ever eaten sweet, salty, Smokey and savory my mom couldn’t stop eating them. The bbq was also fantastic it was Smokey and sweet not like most bbq wings that taste like cheap store bought bbq sauce. My mom loved them and she has never in her life liked wings. The ranch was some of the best I’ve ever had great flavor with hints of dill and the blue cheese was even better chunky and runny but not to runny it went perfect with the fire buffalo. Overall the best wings I’ve ever had 10/10 the customer service was even better I’ve seriously never been treated better at a restaurant 11/10. This is gonna be the most honest review as far as atmosphere and service go this place is wonderful. Everything smells great. Food came out Timely manner now let’s go down to the food. The wings looks so freaking good. I got the lemon pepper 10 piece combo with fries and I got the buffalo sauce on the side. First thing I did digging into the fries delicious no complaints separate some wings and put some buffalo sauce on them as soon as I took the first bite of the wing all I can taste is butter not like these wings were cooked in butter. I love butter just as much as the next guy, but every bite was just butter filled wings. The hint of lemon pepper, and even the buffalo sauce was made with butter, so it was like I was eating butter on top of butter when I grabbed the buttermilk ranch guess what more butter This place was packed. I was expecting the Wings to be crazy unfortunately I was disappointed. This was my first time there like I said everything else perfect but the wings were not it. I would’ve been better off just going to Wingstop. If they made them with less butter, they would be great. They were crispy. They were nice Nice size, but the butter was too overwhelming.
