Complete disappointment!! If I could give (-5) I would. There was so many things wrong with my experience today. I have been so excited about the Porche's recent opening in my area. I was waiting for a day to have the opportunity to go when it wasn't too crowded and today looked like a great day. We were seated quickly which was probably the only positive thing about my whole experience. When I ordered the southwest salad and it arrived, I literally looked at the salad in disbelief. I could not believe that the chef would be confident enough to serve that, and I couldn't believe the server had the audacity to bring it to my table. The chicken was hard as a rock and dry as a dessert. I couldn't even stab it with the fork to pick it up. Thats how hard it was! It looked like it had been reheated 3x over again. I sent the salad back and they did rectify the issue by making another salad which was the right thing to do.. The next salad came out hot and fresh but as I ate the salad I realized that the corn and the black beans had absolutely no flavor. It tasted like it was straight out of a can! There was nothing "Southwest" about that salad. It was gried chicken with corn and black beans and some ranch dressing. There was no season on the chicken and no season on any of the vegetables. it was really Bland and disappointing. The worst part is, not only did they fail to Quality check the food they also failed to Quality check my bill because they charged me for two salads!!! I didn't realize until I left and got in my car and thought to myself "wow that was really expensive." My bill came to $47 for two drinks, some cauliflower bites, and a salad. Then I looked at my receipt only to realize they had charged me for both salads!! I went back inside and spoke with the manager and explained the situation to him and he said "oh yeah, I remember you.".... . That really rubbed me the wrong way because not once did he ever come over to my table to introduce himself or to apologize for the salad being delivered to me the way that it was in the first place so obviously he knew who I was and that there was a problem. I was appalled that he made no effort to make sure I was satisfied when the second salad arrived. He told me he would adjust the salad off of my bill and it took him about 5 minutes just to figure out how to use the system. It's like the blind leading the blind in there. Bad management trickles down to bad service! Do better! You should be ashamed you have only been open for a few days and already have a 4.3 star rating. It won't take much longer before you are ranked lower than McDonald's with that...
Read moreI went to The Porch last Sunday around noon for Brunch with a few friends. My friends and I were very excited to try this location out since we've never been to The Porch before and have heard a lot of good things about the Winter Garden location from other friends. The service was ok. Our server was friendly. I did not like the layout of their Brunch menu. The menu was confusing. You couldn't tell what was an appetizer, salad, entree, or sandwich. I ordered the County Fried Chicken and a side of the Smashed Potatoes. My friends ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken & Biscuit, The Cuban, and the Hash Skillet. We all tried a little bit of each other's food and were very disappointed. Everyone's food was very underwhelming and lacked flavor. My meal was disappointing. I was expecting a whole piece of country fried chicken instead I received 2 little tenders ontop of the biscuits with gravy on them and 2 eggs. The biscuits were very dry and felt like I could've choked on it if it weren't for the gravy on them. The eggs were good though. The Smashed Potatoes 🥔 were not what they were described. They were just full boiled potatoes with no flavor. How can you mess up potatoes out of all food items? The Hash Skillet 🍳 portion size was pathetic for the price. We've could've gone to Waffle House of all places and gotten a larger portion of hashbrowns with all the same things in it for half the price. The chicken from the Nashville Hot Chicken & Biscuits 🔥🐓 was bland, flavorless, and not hot at all. You're better off going to Chicken Fire for better spicy chicken. The Cuban 🇨🇺 was not a Cuban at all. I'm Cuban and I wouldn't have eaten that.
Overall the experience was meh. The service was ok. The food was bland and flavorless. I was expecting a lot more given the hype. It's not worth the hype or price. I did love their chairs though. I will not be recommending this place to people. There's many better places...
Read moreWe went to the porch Feb 19 as evening was approaching. Upon entering the establishment felt pretty calm and laid back. The host said we can sit anywhere so we asked for a booth. There were 4 or 5 of these booths that overlook most of the restaurant so we though why not. Anyhow we order out food which was great. Our server was Brandon. We figure we would eat and chat for a bit. Typically we would chat after our meal. Anyhow mid way Brandon asked us if we needed anything else. We said no. He comes back and asks if I wanted a box for my meal. I wasn't done eating. Then someone else comes and asks if we're done with our meal. A lady walks in an points to the booth were at and I figured it could be a local that eats where we're sitting which is the corner booth near the register and restrooms. Anyhow I started to feel uncomfortable eating due to feeling like we were being pushed out. I asked my husband if we should sit at a regular table so they don't keep asking us if we're done with our meal. When I was FINALLY done Brandon took the meal and I didn't even make eye contact because I was uncomfortable and had to make myself eat the rest of the food. Brandon tossed the clip board check at our table. Now I was pissed but didn't say anything. My husband tossed the check across the table back at him. I guess he felt the tension and then told us to have a good day. When we got there till we left, there wad a couple there longer than we had been at the booth. So if there is a time limit for the booths they need to say that. We barely were there for an hour and never got to talk and enjoy a casual evening eating. Being stared at made me feel like I did something wrong. The passive aggressive attitudes were not it. We're all adults talk about it next time. Never again. I never got to tell him I...
