Kumori Express Chinese & Sushi — Restaurant in Edinburg

This was my first time dining here, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning. The food took an unusually long time to arrive, and the staff seemed disorganized. The orange teriyaki chicken was overwhelmingly salty and inedible. To make matters worse, we realized that both the orange teriyaki and Hunan chicken dishes were served without any vegetables. When we asked if we could have some added, the staff insisted that the meals didn’t come with vegetables. We asked to speak to the manager, who also confirmed that they prepare each dish without veggies. However, this didn’t align with the menu description or the display, both of which clearly listed that each chicken style would come with different vegetables. After a lot of back and forth, one staff member finally admitted that they hadn’t received the vegetables yet. Terrible customer service to say the least. The Chinese food is TERRIBLE. I am not sure how this place has 4.8 stars and who is eating this thinking it is good. I really wanted to love it. The sushi rolls are good. Steamed rice was mushy. We tried their general tori, orange chicken, yuzu shrimp, Kumori shrimp, and Chester roll. The Chinese food was the worst thing I have ever eaten. My husband and myself both woke up feeling sick after this meal in the middle of the night. The yuzu shrimp was a tiny shrimp with a TON of breading and a TON of sauce that looks and tastes like glazed icing. The food in the area behind the counter where you choose your items contained a scoop worth of food that looked old, dried out, and gross. We should have run away after seeing that. DISGUSTING!!! Honestly I’ve been patiently waiting for this place to be open, they finally have the appropriate promotion to show that the location is open. But the Chinese food we very mid, the general Tori (one of their “signature dishes”) every piece that I bit into was breaded, little to no chicken, the broccoli beef was at the end literally less then a scoop and the employee had served me the rest, so I asked if there was gonna be anymore and right away they were able to put a new plate out so what has me thinking was he just gonna give me my plate like that???
