Jade Dynasty — Restaurant in Edison

I've ordered take out from here for a few years. Avg amt spent approx $70 and a generous tip to the driver Tony who is also one of the owners. Ordered again tonight and was told the wait time was the usual 45-50 min. After 1hr. I called to just check on the timing. Was told it should be about 10 min. When 2 hrs approached the food was delivered, again as usual by the owner. I told Tom it was an unusual long wait and he offered no real apology especially given that he's the owner. I didn't tip due to the long wait and he's the owner who had a less than pleasant attitude for some reason. Mumbled something as we walked back to his car. One of the meals i ordered was chicken lo mein however they sent chicken chow mein. I called to explain and the man who took my order and who i called to check on the timing woth told me he didn't know what to do. I suggested crediting my credit card back for the cost of the meal and he agreed. A few moments later Tony called me and said they screwed up but for future reference he would no longer deliver to me because i live too far away. I was shocked. They never told me before that i was out of the delivery area before and always delivered. So i received no credit for the wrong meal and no more deliveries. Maybe if they hired a delivery person, their wouldn't be such a strain on the owners time. Too bad Tony, you chose to handle one difficult night unprofessionally and let a loyal repeat customer go....

I've eaten at Jade Dynasty for over 20 years. I understand there have been some management and staff changes along the way and apparently has fallen off precipitously in quality following these changes. Some bad ratings are those whove eaten at an establishment once or twice - I mustve eaten at Jade Dynasty close to 100 times over the years. Their Hunan style dishes were delicious and rich, the champagne chicken was so savory and unique to the area - their bean curd was flavorful and delicately cooked -- almost all sauces had deep flavors and little starch with good quality vegetables............ Well that is the past - none of these dishes if any exhibit any semblance to their former quality. Sauces are noticeably weak and oily-their specialty champagne sauce now tastes like syrup and the vegetables are sparse - the bean curd is downright disgusting - the sauce being similar to jello with hardly any flavor and tons of salt and starch-the meats overall are lower in quality and taste fatty. the soups which were once rich and fresh no seem like powder based broths with lots of salt and starch. Ive never been more disappointed with the outcome of a restaurant - this was once my favorite place - now it is no better than any other discount take out place, if not worse -- shame on the man who has tarnished a good name with his indifference - will not be going back unless major...

Never ordering from here again. The lady on the phone is extremely inconsiderate and rude. I ordered a large Chicken and Brocoli from here with a large beef fried rice which normally at most places would be more like $20 but here it came out to practically $30. Cool... I was hungry so went through with the order. I've ordered from countless Chinese food restaurants in my lifetime and when the food got here, the "large" ends up being a small. Being this is one of my favorite things to order, I know how other Chinese food places ration their food. So to charge $14 for a "large" and give a small portion is absolutely ridiculous.

Not only that, I specifically said I wanted it made with garlic sauce and that wasn't done. The fried rice has a fishy smell to it, like they're cooking it without washing the wok/pot they just cooked seafood on. After reaching out to see if a mistake was made, the lady was extremely arrogant saying how long she's been in business for and that I'd have to deal with it because other customers do. No lady --- I don't. She eventually hung up on me.

To anyone who left a review here saying their prices are fair ---- they charge $5 for a 2 liter of soda/drink. That's price gouging to say the least.

Never again and I recommend you guys go elsewhere if you're looking for a good meal at a fair price because this is clearly something they aren't...
