Ferraro 1061 — Restaurant in Edison

I'll start out by saying it was Mother's Day so I want to cut the restaurant a little slack, I ordered 3 dinners and a salad at 4:15pm and was told 40 minutes for pickup. I arrived at 5pm expecting that the order should be ready. When I walked in the pizzeria, there were five other people waiting inside so it took a few minutes before they asked my name. When I told them my name the guy looked like a deer in headlights and said it would be at least another 20 to 30 minutes. Now at an hour and 20 minutes since ordering I figured it has to be ready so I headed back inside where I was told it could still be another 30 minutes. Wait a second, 2hrs for three dinners ... seriously? Since I was already 90 minutes in I decided to wait it out ... and as promised two hours later the dinners arrived for take out.

Here are the results ... Chicken Milanese was two fried chicken cutlets, yup that's it, two cutlets with a separate side of spinach. No arugula, no lemon, no nothing.

Stuffed shrimp ... looked a mess, the stuffing was literally just piled on top of a few shrimp, disaster appearance, but still tasted legit.

Chicken rollatini ... subpar at best, very salty and over cooked.

Advice to myself, it was Mother's Day, should have ordered pizzas and kept it simple. Very disappointed, usually this place is a 4 star pizzeria, the owner should have been better prepared for the dinner rush especially considering the holiday and the inability to currently dine in. I actually felt bad for the staff who looked completed overwhelmed and...

Pleasant woman took my delivery phone order with very specific requests due to food allergies and even repeated the requests back to me on the phone. Also requested a copy of the take out menu and the coming weekly specials. The order arrived delivered by a very nice and careful gentleman, very helpful but missing the requested menu/specials list and the requests regarding no onionon the salad was totally ignored as was the request for a small linguine side with just a small amount of sauce., not even on wedge of fish. MISSING WERE ALL THE THINGS ID REQUESTED NICELY: Lemon for the fish, fresh bread (was stale and smashed) Small side of pasta with a bit of sauce WERE MISSING FROM THE EXECUTION. Had a number of good meals over the years even pizza once or twice, but never was as disappointed with the tasteless stuffed flounder and onlyn 2 "jumbo " shrimp lying in a massive bed of overcooked sticky/dry linguine, a small mushy flounder filet with about one teaspoon of crab.and two average size shrimp with 1/2 teaspoon of stuffing mushed into the curve of the shrimp. If any cooking liquid lingered, it tasted like water leaking from 3-day-old fish.and YES the salad (which normally such a delight) ended up in the garbage b/c there was EXTRA RAW ONION ON THE SALAD IM ALLERGIC TO !!!! I ordered food to be delivered by Grub Hub from Ferraro 1061. The food was late and cold. Apparently, the restaurant does the deliveries, even though I ordered it to be delivered by Grub Hub. I have had the restaurant delivery person call me on previous deliveries, because they don’t have any of the information for delivery instructions and for some reason they don’t get them. Instead they call and bother me every time. They are getting the fees that Grub Hub charges and the tip, plus the cash for dinner, yet my food was left on my doorstep like I requested, but I wasn’t notified it was delivered, by text or phone. Food was tasteless. Rigatoni and Sunday sauce was bland and dry. I asked for extra sauce like usual but did not get it. I would have paid for it. I can’t eat dry pasta and meatballs. The sautéed spinach was terrible. No taste, soggy and waterlogged. The side salad was drenched in dressing and it was disgusting. Why would anyone put that much dressing in a salad that isn’t going to be eaten right away???? It was takeout!! I have dined in this restaurant and taken out many times in the past 6 years. Something has changed, but it’s not good. I spent a lot of money for a dinner I couldn’t eat this week. The dinner had to be discarded. I will not be back to...
