IMPRESSED!! My bf and I have found our new go to spot. Food was amazing. Kind attentive service. Ambiance was relaxed. Definitely consider giving this place a shot. Oh yea, not overpriced either!!

We moved to Woodbridge and we haven’t found any sushi place where we can comfortably sit and have high quality sushi. Sushi is our fav and were disappointed by other spots in the area. We’ve been normally going to sushiO in Edison but that’s 15 min drive and out of our area. We decided to try this location and so happy we found it. Less than 10 min away.

At first we didn’t know if we could dine in but walked in and were surprised with plentiful seating. I liked that the place had background music and was very clean. We ordered tempura appetizer and serving size was bigger than other places we’ve been - super crispy, hot and fresh. Also the dipping sauce for this dish was so good, not bitter like other places where I end up switching to soy sauce. Boston roll is our go to (simple roll that my bf likes) but here it was not bland, instead it was tasty and very fresh. Shrimp tempura was also great with large pieces. We shared all this between us 2 and felt stuffed. Enough wasabi on the plate where we didn’t have to ask for more. The ginger was delish and not too strong. The last test we did to really see if this was the new “IT” sushi place for us was order mochi ice cream. One time I ordered mochi from a place and it came hard like it was in the freezer too long and got frost bite. HERE the green tea mochi was soft inside and out and delicious, it was a sweeter taste, it didn’t taste grassy/too much like matcha.

As you can tell I can really pick out little details. I’ve been eating sushi for so long that I’ve experienced so many restaurants. I could not say anything negative...

I will continue the trend of 5 star reviews for Kanpachi. We arrived at 928p on a Saturday night on the way home from seeing my newborn niece. As we were driving down Amboy Ave contemplating what we were going to try that night, we saw a nicely lit and newly renovated spot with a few people still there. We weren't expecting the best service or anything like that. Just looking to order and get out of there. But the head waitress was so inviting, practicing much patience with me and my wife as we took 15 minutes to order, the time was filled with popular dishes and suggestions. The sushi rolls were made fresh to order and the curry was piping hot.

We can't wait to return for a sit down meal where we can take our time.

I think this is important to note: as we were waiting for our food they offered us water. Also as a man left they said goodnight to him by name. They are really looking to establish a neighborhood institution through good food and...

I used to be an all-you-can-eat sushi kind of girl… until I discovered Kanpachi Sushi and now there’s just no going back. This place completely changed the game for me!

The quality here is on another level so fresh, melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and prepared with real care. Every bite feels like it was made just for you. Whether you’re ordering a classic roll or trying something new, it’s consistently chef’s kiss 💋🍣.

It’s a cozy, family-owned spot with the warmest, most welcoming vibes. The staff treats you like a regular from the moment you walk in. Their customer service? 10/10 every time. You can really feel the heart behind this business.

I recommend this place to everyone, whether you’re a sushi lover or just dipping your toes into the world of sashimi, Kanpachi will spoil you for life. Love love love...

We’ve finally found our go-to spot! I can confidently say it’s one of the best sushi spots in town. The customer service here is exceptional. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile, whether it’s recommending a new dish or ensuring you’re comfortable. The sushi is always fresh and beautifully presented, with a great variety on the menu. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and the chefs put thought into every roll and sashimi slice. The ambiance is relaxed yet elegant, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. For anyone who appreciates great food and top-notch service, this restaurant is a must-visit. After two years, they’ve proven that they know how to keep their customers happy, and I’m looking forward to many more meals here!

The food is solidly good, but not mindblowingly so. The restaurant just opened (may 2022) so it's clear all the staff is working extra hard to impress. I think the salmon in particular feels more buttery and tasty than what i would consoder the standard. Personally, however, i don't know that the light-up peacocks and mini plastic trees are adding much (at least for adults). It may also be useful to ask or add on the menu how many rolls one would need to order to get a sushi boat. The tofu appetizer needs the sauce for the salt, so consider dipping it extra long but we really enjoyed the texture. Overall we enjoyed and the food was good and we will be back

We randomly found this place by searching for “sushi near me” on Google. Reviews were great so we decided to give it a try. Let’s just say, reviews were right. This place is great. Sushi was delicious, service was quick and good, we even got an extra roll as a gift because it was our first time here! This place has officially become one of our “to visit regularly” spots. Just a note: it was quite cold in there (they did have small heaters readily available though and I usually tend to be cold all the time lol, so others might find it fine temperature-wise). But just in case, bring a jacket if you’re going to be there when it’s cold outside.
