New Peruvian restaurant? Had to try it, especially since the space looked really cute and the menu looked interesting. Tucked into a corner of a nondescript strip mall on Woodbridge Ave right off of Route 1, it's easy to miss, but worth the hunt! Did not expect an upper dining experience here at all! There are no alcoholic beverages available, but the creative and unique non alcoholic ones are definitely worth a try: the chicha sour and the chicha morada. Of the appetizers, we got the empanadas, ceviche pescado, and the smoked causa. The smoked causa was a deconstructed version of the dish, and the smokiness added a twist to what we normally expect. It was my favorite appetizer of the night, though the empanadas and ceviche were no slouches either. For the mains, we got: the Q'ero chaufa, parpadelle lomito, aji gallina, pulpo a la parrilla, and the arroz con mariscos. If you like octopus, you should definitely order it because it was the rock star of the night: perfectly cooked, tender, and charred without any rubberiness or toughness. Best octopus in the area, and they've got some tough Greek competition nearby. Flavors for all of the dishes were strong and everything was well seasoned. Peruvian food already has really powerful sauces, but here, they're done to a perfect consistency. For instance, the aji gallina was served table side with pickled red onion and the Amarillo sauce absolutely slapped. Finally, for dessert, we got the pistachio tart and the quinoa creme brulee. The creme brulee was genius: like a custard blended with a beautiful crunch rice pudding. Overall, amazing food in an unexpected place. Highly recommend checking it out!

We visited Quero after booking through OpenTable and were pleasantly surprised by this beautifully decorated Peruvian-Japanese fusion spot, open just over two months. The ambiance felt truly authentic, with traditional Peruvian artifacts like Toritos de Pucará, huacos, llamas, and warm, tasteful lighting that preserved Peru’s cultural essence. Despite being a more upscale dining experience, the food stayed true to its Peruvian roots…flavorful and well-executed. Yes, the food took a bit longer to arrive (as others have mentioned), but the vibrant flavors made it well worth the wait. We started with the ceviche trio and Amazónico roll—both excellent. The pork belly that came with the amazónico roll was rich and tender. For entree number 1, the lomo saltado (made with filet mignon) was spot-on. My ají de gallina was creamy, flavorful, and made with just white meat, paired with perfectly cooked rice. The Quero chaufa was another hit, and while my son didn’t love the pulpo a la parrilla , we thought it was tender and well-prepared. Only the purple potato foam needed a bit more seasoning. For dessert, we ordered flan it had a unique coffee note, unexpected but still enjoyable. The only true miss was the coffee itself, which lacked boldness. The staff was friendly, attentive, and the atmosphere was great. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes, so glad the authentic Peruvian flavors shine through despite the fusion twist and upscale feel.

From the minute you walk into it’s unassuming exterior and you’re greeted by “Hasinta” the stuffed llama and the beautiful Peruvian decor (all imported from Peru by the way), Q’ero transports you to another world.

Elegant and classy, Q’ero impressed me on many accounts. The staff were very courteous. The owner was very kind and talked to us and checked in on us to see how everything was. Piero our server was such a sweetheart, super polite, offering suggestions, and excusing himself from our table whenever he was finished as to not overstate his presence. The hostess also gave us a coffee flan on the house for us to enjoy at the end, which, I mean, that’s always a plus in my book lol.

Speaking of food. No misses. I mean I don’t think I had one bad thing. Typically my family can be tough when it comes to restaurants, usually one person will be disappointed with something. On this rare occasion, everyone enjoyed their food and loved the restaurant. Huge. We got the Ceviche Trio, Branzino, Lomo Saltado, Arroz con Mariscos, Q’ero Chaufa. I could go into detail, but I honestly couldve switched plates with anyone at our table and still enjoyed. No misses. One would be hard pressed to find something they wouldn’t enjoy. Meticulously crafted, aesthetically pleasing, and tasted amazing with unique flavors, you can’t go wrong here. (GET THE AJI VERDE SAUCE, that green sauce is amazing! And with the corn? chef’s kiss)

I noticed they didn’t list their desserts, perhaps because they’re still testing it? We had the pistachio layer cake, quinoa creme brûlée and coffee flan as previously mentioned. While the layer cake was good, the creme brûlée has to take the cake (pun intended). Quinoa in dessert? Who would’ve thought? Very unique and very delicious. The coffee flan would be second favorite, great texture, great option to end your meal with.

I take a star away on ambience cause there was an awkward point where there was a lewd song in a remix, it was a lil strange with our parents there. But overall the music choices were enjoyable and i mean the Peruvian decor and lighting totally makes up for it. Highly recommend, will definitely be...

I go out to eat all the time. And I liked Q’ero, both the food and the ambiance. What I didn’t like – and what has never happened to me ever before – was what occurred afterwards. Upon checking my credit card statement a few days after my visit, I noticed that I had two separate charges from Q’ero. Turns out, instead of splitting the bill between my credit card and my dining companion’s card that night, an employee picked up my card twice and ran it for both, differing charges. Not sure how you pick up the same card twice and run it when both cards are different brands, but OK. When I called Q’ero, they confirmed they had mistakenly charged me twice. I asked to have the second charge reversed and I was told that the charge – which I obviously didn’t authorize in the first place – would have to stay until my dining companion came to the restaurant physically and paid his portion. I’ve never heard of a business holding one customer’s money hostage after the business’s own mistake until another, separate customer paid. To put the responsibility on me to have another customer pay before I could receive my refund is bad customer service at best and illegal at worst. I called my bank, who was shocked that a business would withhold my money even after acknowledging its own mistake. The bank urged me to file it as a fraudulent charge, which I decided to hold off on so I could hopefully get the matter settled easier. My dining companion then promptly visited and paid his portion of the bill. When I called the restaurant the next day after his visit to see when my refund would be processed, an employee who answered the phone hung up on me. Finally, after calling again the following day, I got ahold of a supervisor and the refund process began. The supervisor told me I would receive an email confirming the refund, but I only received the email upon contacting them yet again the following day and asking when I would get the email. You might have an enjoyable meal here, but I wouldn’t recommend a visit unless you want to spend your time afterwards fretting that an employee is incapable of handling a run-of-the-mill credit...

There aren't a lot of restaurants like this one, but WOW they did this right! By all means, do try to dine there sometime soon. We had a table for 4 on a quiet Wednesday night, and we were impressed by how beautifully decorated the space was. The food and the service were totally remarkable, and we made ourselves a promise to back very soon.

Honestly, it was a quiet night so we had a lot of time to dine and not much noise. Our server, Piero, was charming, informative, and very courteous and pleasant. And yes, he is Peruvian! I hope to see him again when we go back.

We split three appetizers - the empanadas were very good, the Seafood Croquetas were even better and were served very dramatically with a cloud of dry ice fog, and the Maicito was nothing short of magnificent. Trust me, we scraped the Maicito bowl to get every last morsel.

Our friend chose the Branzino (he doesn't get much fish at home) and he thought it was well prepared and terrific. His wife had the Aji de Gallina and she thought it was absolutely terrific. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Bucatini Saltado and though it was out of this world (I got her leftovers for lunch the next day! YUM!) My choice was the Papardelle Lomito, which was an intriguing and delicious mix of perfectly grilled beef with vegetables and sauce, served with an absolutely wonderful side of Papardelle with a gorgeous and delicious pesto sauce.

Four desserts, three of which were green Cheesecakes that absolutely put the cap on a delightful dinner! When we split the tab, we were favorably impressed at the value that we received for the cost.

I will give you that it's easy to miss this place as you drive but your GPS will get you there. Parking is somewhat limited but there is street parking right nearby.

We all loved Q'ero, and we hope that you will give it some thought. It truly exceeded every expectation and we hope that...
