Sidecar Barley & Wine Bar — Restaurant in Edmond

The food and drinks are average. The music is too loud to comfortably visit or enjoy anything really. This has been my experience both times I’ve been here and each time it wasn’t packed or busy when I came in so it wasn’t because of a crowd either. The service is by far the worst part of both visits I’ve had. Each time the management/servers have been rude and very overbearing. Some sort of coordination or section assignment needs to be made. Being asked multiple times in the span of a few minutes by different people each time if you’re ready to order begins to feel pushy.

I also recommend reevaluating how you speak to and treat customers. This evening I brought my friend a birthday gift including a bottle of wine in the basket. (for the record- obviously there were no plans to crack the bottle open in the middle of the establishment. it was part of a birthday gift.) Anyway, I bring the gift in and before i can even truly get my purse set down a without a greeting or anything the manager? employee? (not quite sure because he didn’t introduce himself) immediately jumped on us about the bottle of wine not being allowed in the establishment. Following my first experience with this place I had sort of anticipated being told it wasn’t allowed but since I was dropped off this evening I didn’t have a car to store the gift in. Instead I planned on telling my friend this. Then I figured I would give it to her and she would be able to look at her gift and then take it to her car. Unfortunately I didn’t even have the chance to get that out. That really set the tone of our whole visit and was definitely a mood killer.

We stopped by recently and got to enjoy one of their famous dirty (extra dry, of course) martinis on the balcony patio. The atmosphere? Rude staff and manager and seemed annoyed we were wanting to come in and closed early. We went in around 10:15 Thursday August 13th. Sat outside and was not greeted by anyone, I had to go inside and asked the server for a menu after she handed to me she told me I had to come inside to order. After I figured out what I wanted to eat I went inside and asked a different women if I could place an order with her, she was very short and rude and told me the kitchen was closed.
