Recently, I spent some time at the Woods Coffee, Edmonds, store at 22019 Hwy 99. I got my drink fairly quickly and the serving staff were pleasant and well mannered. HOWEVER, while I sat and enjoyed my beverage I observed the actions of the Supervisors. Unfortunately, I was close enough to hear their conversation about their Staff and to observe their interactions. I've held many supervisory positions from being in charge of 5-200 employees. The Woods Coffee Supervisors were NOT professional, in the least. I could hear them talking disparagingly and insultingly about their staff AND to their staff. If I had been an employee, I would have told them off and left them hanging with the work. If I had been THEIR SUPERVISOR conducting a no-notice, secret inspection - I WOULD HAVE FIRED THEM ON THE SPOT!! If Woods Coffee is going to portray itself as a Christian following organization then WOODS COFFEE had best send clandestine and unannounced Inspectors to ALL of their stores to ensure their supervisors are doing their job in a Christian Loving & Understanding & Teaching attitude. You want to catch all your Employees doing GOOD. Reinforce with positive motivating supervision and your employees will always do their best. Treat folks (employees & customers) how YOU want to be treated; and, how Jesus taught us to Love'em All And Let God...
Read moreI AM a creature of habit, and once I find what I like, I stick to it, and this has turned into my coffee-stop first choice (no longer $tarbuck$). Based on earlier experiences in Bellingham where Woods originated, I found, once again, Woods coffee roast is Much More enjoyable, which is to say Wood's is roasted perfectly (not burnt-roasted) palatable (never bitter), and More affordable...need I say more...well, yes...I will!
When I visit the Lynnwood locale, I've noticed the Team carefully listen to my needs and recognize what I'm looking for and make suggestions; members in the Team actually collaborate with one another to suggest coffee choices, and alterations based on my feedback, and their suggestions I've consistently accepted and have found the final products very satisfying!
As for food, a friend and I greedily munch down blueberry scones; they are delicious...not too sweet and not dry at all. There are other food options, too, and they look really tasty! We both like Woods' PNW interior...a lot of light, wood and steel, deep easy chairs, a variety of table-seating options, and in winter a lit fire place.
Thank you, Staff, at Woods'! You're doing a great job! (Store Manager - please...
Read moreI go here often to caffeinate myself and get some writing done. The coffee is good and the people working here are very nice. The young people who work the order counter are always pleasant and fun to joke with. Skip the food. I have ordered several different items and regretted it every time. It's too bad, because they have some items that should be delicious. There is a long bench with tables along the wall. Each table has access to outlets, so plugging in is easy. The bench is a bit of a problem. It is very uncomfortable. Maybe that is to encourage people to leave as soon as they finish their coffee. The other problem is that with a common bench, there is always someone who plops down hard or shifts in their seat shaking everyone. There are also comfy seats by the fireplace. It pays to get there early to claim one of these spots. As they fill in, you might meet someone...
