Yesterday me and a friend went shopping all day and after we were super hungry and craving Korean hot dogs, we attempted to go to Seoul Hotdog in Lynwood but they were closed. After thinking about it we decided to make the drive to happy lemon. Once we got there we noticed about 20-25 people were waiting in line but assumed it would go by quickly since there were around 6-7 workers. This was however not the case, the employee working the cash register took around 10 minutes with each customer, there were also a pair of employees just standing and talking not helping at all to make the line go a little faster. After around 30 minutes of waiting, I noticed a worker post a sticky note on the protective shield at the cash register, I and my friend and I didn't think much about it as there were several other sticky notes posted there, we assumed if it was important the employees would announce it to the customers. After another 30 minutes of waiting, we had been there for an hour and were just now getting to the cash register, once we approached we finally got to read the sticky note which was meant to inform customers they were not making the hot dogs anymore. They did not give anyone a proper heads up, they expected us to read their minds and magically now we needed to get out of line and read the sticky note, they just slapped the sticky note up and went back to talking to their friends. While expressing our frustration to the employee and explaining how we just waited an hour when the only thing we were ordering was the hot dog the staff did not manage to apologize once for the inconvenience all they had to say to us was “well to do want anything else.” This is not an example of a good business. What they should have done is offer to give something on the house or a coupon or at least an apology but no, we got none of that and left empty-handed, frustrated, and shocked at how poorly people manage to run a business. If you are ever thinking of...
Read moreWhen I heard that a Happy Lemon opened up in the Edmonds area, I wasn't that excited. Personally I'm not a fan of big boba chains, but that changed once I learned that they sell the popular and beautiful looking mochi donuts! Now, that's all I come here for, and whenever we get some gorgeous mochi donuts, I am very excited.
I love mochi donuts because they are super light, super airy like a pillow, but the main thing is that they are no-where as sweet as traditional donuts. That's why I HATE most donuts, but I love these mochi donuts. I remember the first time around when we first got some donuts I was very excited to try them, but wasn't too satisfied. Each donut was pretty bland, and they all tasted the same. That's the thing with these donuts though, and I've noticed it throughout all the donuts and all the times I have been here, and it's that all the donuts are pretty bland. I love the texture, but the flavors aren't as vibrant or POP as much as I would like. My all-time favorite donut from them is the churro donut. I will definitely pick them up whenever they are available in the rotation. Overall, with the donuts, a little disappointed, and there can be improvement, but I'll still gladly eat them for dessert, a snack, or breakfast. Plus, they make for some amazing photos!
What really surprised me though was the chocolate bubble waffle! Every time that some boba shop or bakery has one of those, I don't ever even think of getting one because I always thought that it would be soft and have the same texture and taste as like a waffle, so it didn't really appeal to me even though I still like waffles. Instead, the bubble waffle had the same texture as an ice-cream cone, and had a really rich chocolatey flavor! It was quite enjoyable, and paired with the smooth, delicate oreo filling, it made for a very...
Read moreI stopped by this Mochinut x Happy Lemon location out of curiosity, and I’m really glad I did. It’s such a fun combo — chewy mochi donuts and refreshing bubble tea under one roof! The shop itself is bright, clean, and smells amazing as soon as you walk in. There’s usually some upbeat music playing and the staff are friendly, though sometimes they seem a little rushed when it gets busy.
Food & Drinks: The mochi donuts are definitely the highlight. They’re light yet chewy with that signature mochi texture — crispy on the outside and soft inside. I’ve tried several flavors so far: the ube and churro are my favorites, and the matcha is good but a bit more subtle in flavor. They rotate flavors daily, which keeps things interesting, but it can also mean your favorite one isn’t always available.
On the Happy Lemon side, the drinks are consistently solid. I usually get the Classic Milk Tea with boba or the Salted Cheese Green Tea — both are made well and not overly sweet, which I appreciate. The pearls are fresh and chewy most of the time, though I’ve had a few visits where they were a bit too soft. The drinks take a few minutes longer when there’s a crowd, but that’s understandable given how many customizations people order.
Service & Atmosphere: Service is friendly and efficient, though it can feel a little chaotic during rush hours. There’s limited seating, so it’s not really a place to linger for long, but great for grabbing something on the go or meeting a friend for a quick treat.
Overall: This spot is perfect if you’ve got a sweet tooth or want to treat yourself to something different. The pairing of mochi donuts and boba is genius — chewy desserts and chewy drinks just work together. Prices are what you’d expect for this type of shop (around $4 per donut and...
