Hi-Pointe Drive-In — Restaurant in Edwardsville

I had not had a burger in almost 2 months! Decided to pop in for a birthday burger and customized it. It was sooo good! I got a regular burger with herb mayo, andoulaise sauce, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and subbed for sour dough. It was so delicious! I savored every bite! The only thing I would change and the reason I gave 4 stars for service is no one recognized I was there. Nothing on entrance, which I didn’t really expect. I went past the line to the spot that said pickup. I had never been to this location before so I waited at the counter. No one acknowledged I was there at all, didn’t even look at me. It wasn’t until another girl came up to the same area and grabbed an employees attention saying she had a pickup order. They were still working on hers, but they still didn’t acknowledge me standing right there. I had to grab her attention and stated I didn’t realize I was suppose to tell them I had a pickup order. She said “oh”, and asked my name. She went over and grabbed my bag that had been sitting out of sight. She was polite and friendly then, telling me to have a good night. I just wondered after standing there for about 5 minutes without any interaction, how long I would have stood there waiting if that other person...

If zero stars were an option, that’s the rating I would have given. Unfortunately our second experience here was awful. We were the first people in the door shortly after opening. Our food was not ready for AT LEAST 30 minutes. We received 2/4 milkshakes we ordered. One of them was complete milk and had no ice cream consistency whatsoever. We took it back and asked the girl making the shakes that it needed to be remade and she got an attitude about it. After waiting a while for it, I was told she would get to it but she had other orders to get out. Other tables were getting their shakes before our remaining 2 were even made. Our burger patties were harder than the toasted sourdough bread it came on. The sweet potato tots that came with my order had been sitting in the fryer basket for 20 mins, not even a warmer. For the price we paid for our lunch, the quality and service was absolutely awful. It was discussed with a manager and a refund was issued. In the process of getting my refund, a cook at the grill was cussing about how bad his job is, loud enough for customers to hear. My hope is that this isn’t typical customer service for this place. Short staffed, new employees, or whatever the issue is, there is some lack...

Horrible food. First time ordering it was disgusting and extremely over priced. Shakes expensive and very very small and mine had no orange flavor and the fries were very small and nothing to brag about below average fries. My fresco melt hamburger meat was pure raw the edge of the burger was cooked but when you bit in it was very raw Called manager he advised new cooks and lots of complaints about raw meat. This is a training issue and frankly potentially making customers very sick with raw meat, I mean mine was not under cooked it was raw bright red so manger did not offer to come back so I could get something else he said a mgr will call me back in the morning. Do I guess I’m supposed to go hungry. They gave me no ketchup I requested and no napkins and no thousand island. They failed miserably. They are never gonna stay in business with the high prices and below substandard food. Very very disappointing and disgusting Cooks should not even be cooking on their own if they can’t cook a hamburger patty properly so customers do not get food poisoning. Never will return to many other hamburger places that are way better and cheaper. With the pricing so expensive I was expecting a good gourmet burger boy...
