Absolutely love Kolache and the prices are great. We come here often and have always been very understanding if there’s limited availability. I’ve even offered families to go before me if it’s close to close just to make sure people can get what they want. But today at 11:30 AM, my boyfriend came in and ordered from the few options that were available. After ordering from the employee at the register, a different employee, young blonde, comes up to the front and rudely says those are hers and they refused to sell them to him. As someone who has worked in the food and hospitality industry, this looks very bad on you as a face of a company, which is what you are when you assume an in house position. Any decent food server would not selfishly take the last of something without making sure there were more for customers. Or just take it off the wall if you’ve already purchased them. On two separate occasions, we asked for a specific roll and were told that they were completely out and wouldn’t have them anytime soon, only to have a cook walk them out and slide them into the shelves for purchase WHILE we’re still ordering. And then the staff got upset and argued with us when we change our order to include those roles.
They’re brand new to service, and you can tell. Maybe after they figure out how to run their new business they’ll be better, but for now I’ll spend the extra time driving to Brentwood...
Read moreTo put it simply, Kolaches are really great bread stuffed with all kinds of goodness and very excited to have this restaurant in Edwardsville! They have pastries as well that are also very good-mainly Danish. Recently, they have started collaborations with famous St. Louis restaurants, creating amazing kolaches! Pappy's Smokehouse has provided pulled pork and brisket and Gioia's Deli from the Hill has contributed their hot salami. I highly recommend both of these restaurants on their own... Having their best stuffed in some delicious bread is a great alternative for a savory breakfast or lunch. ...
