This was me and my dad's lunch together. We were expecting okay food and okay service. We recieved amazing food and amazing service. Our server and bartender were awesome, he went above and beyond in order to make sure we had a great meal. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with our server being there just when we needed something. Our glasses were always full and food was delivered quickly after order, despite many other tables being filled. I ordered the Sunny Roll and our server recommended that we put a drop of sriracha sauce on the top. It was amazing! Try the miso soup and the onion soup both have amazing flavor. For dessert I ordered the tempura ice cream and I was greeted with a giant ball of fried ice cream with TWO spoons! It was delicious, and here is where the bartender comes in. He said from behind the bar, "Do you guys like chocolate?" I responded, "Uh, Yeah." He proceeded to walk to our table with a small bottle of chocolate syrup, said that he used to design desserts and there was not enough chocolate, and covered our ice cream with chocolate! It made it even better than it already was. All in all, a great meal with a cheap 9.99 lunch deal, and a great server. We sat in the dining room and plan to come back for the...
Read moredinner here was highly anticipated as have really enjoyed other Kyoto locations like Greenfield Wisconsin. Promising as decor was well done and everything looked clean and fresh. Friendly hostess and smiles, but went downhill from there. Couldnt figure out where to seat a party of 2, finally got a booth.. seats felt like they were 20 years old. Quick friendly wait staff... drinks, appetizers were excellent. Ordered a Bento box entree... seemed like it took way to long to arrive...and when it did was served on a plate not a bento presentation. Had to ask for our soup, waitress forgot it and offered it to-go. Never did see the rice for the meal. The entree was cool-cold. The California roll was ice cold, obviously not made to order. Should have asked for manager but it was a birthday event and she just wanted to leave without a confrontation. May try this place again in a few months after they get their training and kitchen under control. Or keep it simple at a hibachi table or at the sushi bar to avoid "from...
Read moreNot impressed. We watched in anticipation for the place to be built and open. The parking lot was always full but finally we decided to go for dinner. We were told you have to make reservations if you want Hibachi service but you can still get hibachi. I ordered the hibachi steak and lobster, medium. The soup and salad were tasty. The lobster was overcooked and fishy tasting. Obviously frozen. The steak was from a cheap cut that was also overcooked and so tough I couldn't cut it with a fork or tear it apart. The fried rice was bland, the shrimp appetizer was like rubber and overcooked. The veggies were bland. In the end they let me order a different entree so I ordered the teriyaki chicken bento box. The chicken was good but again bland on the rest of the food. Bummer. The California roll seemed to have fake crab in it and the ONLY redeeming quality was the chocolate cake. My guess is it's probably frozen too and heated up on order. Way better sushi and steak places...
