Gopher’s Grill — Restaurant in Effingham

Brought my son here for his birthday. We had a great time playing the simulator that's why I am giving 2 stars but the rest was not good at all. We ordered boneless wings as our appetizer, it took almost 40 minutes, the last one we cut in to was completely not done. I wish we would of been paying closer attention before and hope we don't get food poising because it was very raw. If this would of been the first one, I would sent them all back. I told our waitress and we were told bc we ate the other ones all they could do was half off the app.

At that point I probably should of canceled our other food but my kids were hungry and our time was almost up on our simulator it had been a while since we ordered and knew it was probably almost done. Our service was not great at all. The rest of the food was just ok, small portions, sons sandwich was luke warm but atleast cooked. When the waitress brought the bill she had to ask if I wanted half off the wings, really? And I had told her it was my son's bday when we got there, she didn't even ask if he wanted a dessert. At that point we were ready to go anyway and over it. I rarely leave bad reviews but the way things were handled plus very under done chicken is pretty bad. I would go back for drinks and the games only, even with the poor service bc there isn't much to do around here but will never...

We sat on the patio with our 4 month old puppy & our server was nice enough to bring us water for him. We ordered mozz balls, German eggrolls, hot ham and cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries & chicken and waffle sandwich with Brussel sprouts. I was expecting to like the mozz balls but to my surprise, the German eggrolls were the star!! Must try! The mozz balls weren't worth it in my opinion, they tasted okay but nothing super special and I wouldn't pay $9 for 9 little balls of cheese again... The hot ham and cheese was good, and the sweet potato fries were excellent, very crispy. The chicken and waffle sandwich could have been better, the flavors were there and it still was delicious, but the waffles were a little doughy and definitely not crispy. They were falling apart as I was trying to eat it. I like toasted buns and definitely love crispy waffles so it was a little disappointing but the Sriracha syrup was AMAZING. the waffle also suffered more because of the plating, it really irks me when restaurants put crispy things atop a bed of liquid.. the sauce from the Brussels was all over the plate, so the waffles were soggy and soaked on one side. This shows yesterday but it was today, anyway this was a sad day there, took my daughter there for her school lunch break, it took us 45 minutes to get our food. They were not busy until right before we got our food. My daughter got a chicken wrap, and I got a turkey sandwich. It didn't take long after we sat down to order. There were about 5 waitresses just standing by the bar counter talking amongst the themselves. It's sad that obviously they were to short on kitchen staff and way over staffed on waitresses that doesn't care.. Sorry it it will be the last time we go there. It was amazing in the begining, I have heard stories recently about the wait, I just thought that maybe they were there on a busy time. What gets to me about this my daughter had an hour lunch today, and I was able to take an extended one to be with her, it only took me 5 minutes to drive both ways, but when you have to wait 45 minutes to get a sandwich that is meant to be cold, and 5 minutes to eat,...
