Absolutely the best carne asada burritos , I love their American guacamole and their salsa bar is extensive with free spicy pickled carrots,
Updated review for 2020,
I still recommend Pancho's authentic Mexican food off of Greenfield and East main in El cajon which is San Diego's East county, as the number one Mexican food place I recommend and I review tons and tons of them from El cajon up to Los Angeles,
They have three actually four different types of hot sauces one of them is very mild then they have a green a red and a brown, the red one I believe is the hottest, and is just exceptionally tasty on all burritos,
Their surf and turf burrito is amazing they're San Diego burrito is amazing! The Angus Chipotle burrito is out of control amazing, and their big breakfast burrito I actually ate for about 40 days straight one time!
At the top I mentioned that they have the best carne asada burritos, although the taste is true they have gotten smaller over the years for some reason!
So if you're looking for a really big packed burrito look at the ones I mentioned above or get a California burrito and you'll be happy with the size!
The bean and cheese burrito is top notch as well!
I could go on to mention carne asada fries carne asada chips ponchos nachos and so on the food is plentiful they leave it all in the plates and their American guacamole is unlike any other guacamole in San Diego county, you mix that with some of the red hot sauce and dip some cheese chips in it and you'll never want to go...
Read moreMaking this review isn’t exactly my cup of tea, but I must admit, the customer service at this establishment has been exceptional both times I’ve been there. The restaurant is clean and inviting, which is why I gave the service and atmosphere a 5.
Now, let’s talk about the food and prices. My first time here was a treat. The food was a bit pricey compared to other taco shops I enjoy, but I thought it was worth it considering the deliciousness. However, my second visit was a complete letdown. I can’t quite put my finger on why, but my wife and I both felt like the food didn’t quite hit the same mark as it did the first time. They also give free chips with your order, which are very good!
My rolled tacos were particularly disappointing. They were dry and lacked flavor. My wife even mentioned that her tacos tasted like the restaurant’s cleaning supplies, which I didn’t quite agree with. In fact, I enjoyed her shrimp tacos more than my own rolled tacos.
Overall, I feel like this restaurant is a bit hit or miss. I hope they can improve the consistency, because the first night I had some of the best rolled tacos I’ve ever had. For a price of $50 for 10 supreme rolls and three shrimp tacos, I don’t think I’m getting anything “supreme” about the rolled tacos, and the shrimp tacos were just okay. To me It’s a steep price for the quality I’m getting.
In conclusion, I hope the restaurant doesn’t take offense to my honest review of my visits. I feel compelled to be truthful, regardless of my personal...
Read moreJust went and waited over 15 minutes to never even be asked if I wanted my order to be placed. Upon entering, there was just a ton of people waiting, so I proceeded to the back of the line. I literally just stood in the restaurant, waited for them to announce the order of the line or any order line and one cashier who was wearing a different shirt than the name of the restaurant (papaguayo?) was literally just counting money avoiding the customers. The 2nd what I assume was a cashier was telling the cook in spanish to look at how many people we're waiting on him and he just laughed it off. Zero sense of urgency. A caucasian man walks in and no joke, they help him within 2 minutes. So I proceed to stand where he stood to have my order placed and cashier #2 proceeds to announce in spanish she's off the clock and leaves. In my 31 years being a San Diego native and eating at taco shops all my life, I've honestly never have walked into a taco shop that was so BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL and COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED. In a city where taco shops are on just about every corner, you would think they would at the very least, NOT IGNORE A CUSTOMER. Honestly, while the experience just overall sucked, it served as a nice reminder of who not to support with your dollar and support those businesses who actually care about...
