Uptown Grill — Restaurant in El Campo

This was the worst so called restaurant I've ever eaten at. We ordered the fried mushrooms as an appetizer. When they came out they tasted and felt like they had been microwaved. As we started to pay more attention everytime the microwave timer would go off someone's food would come out. I thought to myself surely they are not microwaving the food. And sure enough when I here the microwave timer sound and here my seafood platter came. It had the same texture as the mushrooms. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she tried to explain that the lady cooking the food doesn't like to cook it long enough. But one thing I can say that was very good was the way the 60 yr old waitress ran circles around them younger girls. She was full of energy and didnt stop the entire time we was there. I ordered the stuff shrimp with a baked potatoe and salad. The waiter came back and stated they did not have the stuffing to make the stuffed shrimp. So I decided I would have the fried shrimp instead. The fried shrimp is part of the lunch menu. When I asked the waiter if I could still have the baked potatoe as part of the order he went to check with his Manager. The Manager came and stated they no longer serve stuffed shrimp and if I wanted the baked potatoe it would cost me $2.99 extra. The Manager could have added the baked potatoe, it was his choice as is with any Manager. I disagreed with his poor decision and canceled my order. No thanks.
