We went here for the third time and were even more disappointed than the first two. For starters, the waitress couldn't find a drink menu. We thought that was odd considering there were only a few people eating the afternoon we were there. She then referred us to a sign with a list of drink names hanging on the wall. That's all it was--a list of drink names. So we had to inquire about each one in order to know which one we wanted. After she walked off with our drink order, we noticed how one of our menus had food on it. When the waitress returned with our drinks, we casually mentioned it to her but she seemed unconcerned and said something along the lines of "it's no-tellin'" and then took our order. Our drinks were not good. I had a long island iced tea and it was probably the worst one I ever had. It had like it contained nothing more than flat Coke and some sort of sour mixer. No alcohol that either of us could tell. My wife's drink wasn't any better. Our food came out after that. It was a bit faster than one would have expected for what we ordered (a burger and some enchiladas). Right after the waitress walked away, we couldn't help but notice how dirty my wife's fork was so there's that too. Luckily mine was clean so she used it but still...dirty menu, dirty fork.... The food was also horribly bland, without any real flavor. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium but it wasn't and it ended up tasting like it had been sitting under some heat lamp for a while. My wife's enchiladas had no taste at all. The meat that was in them was dry and very, very underseasoned. It definitely was a far cry from what was described in the menu. Not longer after we started tasting the food, my wife need to use the restroom. She soon returned to tell me someone had vomited all over the floor and said she had to go find someone to let them know. It made us concerned for our meal. In all honesty, what she found probably had nothing to do with the food there but who knows considering how the food looked and tasted, how bad the drinks were, the lack of concern there was for the dirty menu, and the state of the flatware. Not long after all that, someone came and bussed our table. They literally took away two plates of food and two almost untouched drinks. No one was concerned though. (I would have asked what was going on if that was my restaurant. Customers should not be returning full plates and drinks like that.)
It was an awful experience overall. We should have known it wasn't going to be good after the last time we ate there and had super dry chicken that was inedible, or the time before that when we had some other problem that I can't really recall now. We had hoped maybe it was just a bad night the previous two times but nope...that's not the case. Bad food, poor service. We will not...
Read moreI generally enjoy Laredo Grill and anyone who has served me and did their job knows I am a very generous tipper. Tonight deserves a review. The person employed, as she doesn’t deserve to be called a waitress, named Marty was the reason for this post. Her and the hostess, again using this word lightly, from the moment we walked in, made sure we never wanted to come back.
We were pushed back on when we asked to sit outside and asked them to turn the misters on. We waited 15 minutes to get our drinks at which point she brought the appetizers too. My husband asked for a burrito and asked to add steak to it at which point she stared at him and blatantly asked us he sure he wants to do that? I asked her to bring what he ordered. After the food was brought, We asked for refills and condiments, she seemed to get more frustrated with us.
We finished eating and waited and waited for her to come back so we could get a go box and the check, nothing. So I go to the bar and announce my frustrations to the bartender and she apologized and asked who the waitress was. A few minutes later Marty shows up with the go box and check and slaps the pin on the table while walking away. She mouths as she’s a few feet off, have a good night and I smartly reply oh you tooo! She then yells at me that I need Jesus. Needless to say I left no tip. I’ve only done this one other time in my life. You have to be pretty bad for me to leave no tip and even worse then that for me to write a book on Google so everyone knows about it. I will go back to Laredo Grill but she will never be the person that is supposed to wait on my table again. That I can assure. So in a nut shell, If you get this person named Marty, ask for someone else. Anyone...
Read moreOk, really wanted this to be awesome. Seated quickly, atmosphere outside on the patio was amazing. Got the sampler for an appetizer. First thing we tried were the jalapeños stuffed with cheddar cheese and fried. Seemed house made, tasted fantastic! Downhill from there. Mozz sticks gummy and under cooked, from a box. Cheese dip tasted like glue and the chips were stale. Entrées got worse. 12 oz ribeye, over half of it was inedible gristle, baked potato tasted rewarmed and the "salad" was exactly 8 bites (we counted). My wife's taco salad, lukewarm and tasted like a pre-bought shell, canned beans and warmed up ground beef. Daughter's burger was obviously prebought and cooked from frozen. Desserts (still trying to save the evening) were cheesecakes. They were covered in sauces (chocolate and strawberry), the cheesecakes themselves tasted of moist sawdust. The waitress was short and clippy, but polite, however we hardly saw her after ordering. When showed the mound of gristle, merely got a "ribeyes have fat, that's why I don't order them". Sigh. The ribeye meal alone was over...
