Denny's — Restaurant in El Paso

We went on Christmas and I felt bad for the staff because they must have had 75% of their staff call in or not show up. It was only around 5:30 pm, not very busy when we got there. First thing I noticed was the rap music blaring from the kitchen and most of the staff that was there standing around. Took awhile for anyone to acknowlege us and get our drinks. A huge group came in shortly after us and we made sure to order as quickly as we could so we got our order in before they did. Kitchen was out of stuffing, then out of breakfast potatoes, and out of the tater tot bites, and one other thing we asked for but forgot what it was. After waiting about 15 minutes after placing our order we were told our order would take about 45 minutes to come out. No refills on our drinks while we waited for our food, waitress never even came by for us to ask. Our food did make it out in about 30 minutes but we were missing 4 different items which the server said she'd come back with and never did. We told our waitress what we were missing 3 times and waited between 15-25 minutes for them to sporadically make it to our table all at different times. The toast never made it to the table until we decided to leave, after being there for almost 2 hours. Granted it did get busy after we were there for awhile, but holy lord I never thought I'd have to wait so long for damn toast. Our total would have been a lot more if the kitchen wasnt out of the items we wanted, and we never ever in the history of eating out to a Denny's, all over the country, which is a usual occurrence for us, have we never tipped a waitress, until this time. Wow! Absolutely worst service I’ve ever had. Usually hunt the good stuff but couldn’t find anything. Server gave me anxiety but not writing our order down. Of course came out incorrect, kiddo had to wait on his eggs. Forgot part of my order. Never came back to get refills, I got yo to ask for more to drink while she stood behind a wall at the server station eating Doritos. The other only waitress was at the front register fixing her makeup. Kitchen guy came out and asked if we needed refills, we said yes we gave her the kids cups to refill about 5 minutes ago. He said oh ok and walked off. Appreciate the thought but c’mon man! Manager walking around dumbfounded. Watched my food be made, out in the window, sat there while waiting on everyone else’s food. Then they realized the forgot something so instead of getting our 90% complete order they decide to wait. Food was good. That’s the only thing...watched the manager walk past as the cook says “order up.” Manager walked to the kitchen to talk to him about something, came back out and walked right past it again. Server nervously carried all 6 plates on big tray. I get it they have to learn...I don’t know. My wife has been a restaurant manager for over 10 years and I spend the better part of 8.5 as a restaurant manager. Not McDonald’s or Taco Bell either (not knocking those managers but it’s not the same style management) but legit sit-down corporate restaurants with rules and standards. no wonder it was us and another table at 7:45...geez you gotta shut this one down or get some motivation in...

Good Morning , I was hankering for some good ole breakfast dish . What better place to eat is at Denny's restaurant. I entered the building and the first thing I felt was the fresh cool air. It was comforting and it felt homey . The waitress came and left me my menu. The first thing she asked me was welcome to Denny's may I get you a drink I had a coffee and it was fresh and great it arrived with its very own. Coaster and four creamers. I wasted no time in taking my first sip. Mmmm , good coffee and not over powering. The waitress proceeded to take my order I ordered a lumberjack breakfast which includes two eggs prepared how you want. Hask browns and two slices of bacon and two sausage links and a large piece of honey ham. With two pieces of toast and butter and two buttermilk pancakes. This Breakfast is hugely wonderful and filling . The atmosphere was quiet and comforting. The Manager would periodically come and check to see if everything was good I was amazed at how clean this Denny's is. I'm definitely going back next time. Please check this place out . The only bad thing about it was waitress wasn't periodically check my coffee fill up....
