I visited the Krispy Kreme located off of Gateway West in the Las Palmas Marketplace today, Sunday, November 29th at approximately 8:30 p.m. The drive-thru was pretty long, so I decided to go in and place my order.
There was a couple at the donut display being assisted by a middle-aged female attendant. As I approached the display to take my place in line, I noted the all-too-familiar "Stand here!", 6-ft social distancing markers, so I stood upon the logical one that appeared to be a fair distance away from the couple in line. A few seconds after I took my place, the attendant screeched at me "Six feet! Six feet!" (in a mean librarian sort of tone) and directed a flurry of "scoot back" gestures toward me with her clear-plastic-gloved left hand. Though I was a bit annoyed, I immediately proceeded to put a significant amount of space between myself and the couple that was ordering--approximately 10 ft. But that isn't the reason for the rating.
After I moved back, I attempted to make eye contact with the middle-aged female attendant in order to get her approval that I was socially distanced to her satisfaction, and I immediately noticed that her nose was fully exposed above the common white-side/blue-side face mask that she wore over her mouth only. She was actually selecting donuts for the couple in front of me and holding them in close proximity to her face. Waiting for the right moment to correct her, I closely observed her as she continued to serve the couple and ultimately make her way to the cash register to pass the couple's selection to the cashier. After she placed the box of donuts on the counter near the register, she immediately rubbed her nose with her gloved right hand, pulled her mask over her nose, and proceeded toward the display. Mildly disgusted, I glanced around at the rest of the staff and in that few seconds noticed two other attendants doing the very same thing--adjusting their masks with gloved hands and unfortunately touching their noses and faces in the process. Needless to say, when she asked me "May I help you!", I kindly said "Absolutely not!" as I made my way out the door.
Some may read this and think "What's the problem? They're making sure their faces are covered." For those who either thought that or are completely oblivious to the infraction, the problem is the obvious touching of their face, nose and mouths (the germy areas) then handling your food. That is just as bad as someone handling money then immediately handling someone's food without changing their gloves. It may actually be worse, now, due to Covid-9.
For Krispy Kreme management and any other food handlers that may read this: now is a time to be extremely cautious and extra careful when handling people's food. What I observed today lends credence to why El Paso, TX is leading the nation in Covid-spread. Please retrain your personnel and advise them to be cognizant of their hands and how they handle people's food.
Ps. Forgive any typos or errors, so it is too long and I am too...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally I would give them a 4 to 5 star because their glazed donuts are so damn good but today sad to say today I got Duked. So here is the story. I had to get a few things from Walmart so as I head to the check out I see Krispy Kreme donuts. So I decided to get some, I decided not to get the ones from Walmart and go to Krispy Kreme store thinking they would be more fresh, and better yet maybe I can even catch the hot and ready sign-on. So I pull up to Krispy Kreme and lo and behold The hot and ready sign is on. With having a sleeping three-year-old in the car I decided to go through drive-through. I order a dozen glazed donuts pay for them then drive home. I carried the donuts and put them on the counter grab my glass of milk and get a donut out. Wait a minute there is something wrong here?!? As I touch the donut, it doesn't feel hot nor does it feel warm like they normally do when I bring them home I kind of shrug it off and take a bite of the donut humm, doesn't quite taste right either and Yep doesn't taste fresh. So I start looking at the packaging and think for a minute normally they do not give me the dozen donuts with the see-through window normally it's in a Krispy Kreme box and you can't see through it but this one has a window. Oh my gosh it also has a delivery sticker on it just like the ones at Walmartš³. I think they gave me but don't know if they were supposed to deliver in the morning to the local stores around town. Oh my I didn't get fresh donuts, I drove all the way to Krispy Kreme and I ended up with a box that must've been left behind and they found a sucker to sell it to. If I want me a day old Krispy Kreme I could've just picked up the ones they had at Walmart they were probably cheaper there too but instead I paid full price like if I was getting the fresh hot off the oil Krispy Kreme donut. Well that was a waste of money. Although the donut is still tasty I'm just very disappointed that it could've been better but somebody decided I didn't need the fresh Krispy Kreme hot and ready donut. Although this will not keep me from going back I know now that I will have to double check their work or I will have to go inside and watch what donuts they put...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI haaate leaving bad reviews but Iāve had a bad experience twice in a row. yesterday i went to use the birthday coupon and the employee didnāt apply it correctly, so I ended up paying more. thankfully, she fixed it once I told her and she was nice and apologized. however, the real problem is from today. I went (8/2/2025) at around 8:30am and got the rudest employee, it was a girl with glasses, tan skin, small frame, and dark hair pulled back. when ordering, I told her I had a coupon for the buy any one dozen, get another glazed or assorted dozen free. when she read back my order, she put down 4 dozens (I think 2 glazed, 2 assorted), which I told her was wrong because I only wanted 2 dozens total (have no idea where she got 4 from). then when she read back the two dozens, she put 2 glazed dozens (I had ordered one tour of Italy and one assorted). again, I told her it was wrong and repeated my order, but thatās when she started getting snappy and said those dozens werenāt part of the promotion (even though they was). I noticed her tone and didnāt want to argue, so I said that was fine and only asked for 1 glazed and 1 assorted. this is where she was really rude and with a snappy tone, she was like āonce again, like I already said, those donāt apply. you can only get glazed dozens,ā which really annoyed me because 1) I had the coupon in my hand and thatās NOT what it said and 2) she said it in the rudest tone ever. when I stayed quiet, she was like ājust pull up to the window, I can help you there.ā so I do and I give her the coupon and guess what, my original order (the tour of Italy and the assorted) DID qualify. she didnāt even acknowledge her mistake, she just asked if thatās all I wanted and gave me my order. didnāt even apologize or anything (at least the girl from the previous day did).
I get it, customer service is rough, mistakes happen, and this mightāve been her first job, but jeez this was the rudest encounter Iāve had in a long time. hadnāt gotten krispy in years, and I only came because I wanted to redeem the birthday coupon and take donuts to work- but it doesnāt look like Iāll be coming back...
