Gallegos Mexican Buffet — Restaurant in El Paso

The staff for the majority has amazing customer service. I don't tend to get any bad servers though I have seen a server that never stays put when taking in order and seems in a rush to help other tables yet doesn't give the attention to the current customer that originally was trying to order. It really upsets me when the food can be amazing or at lease good yet the service is not up to par. The price is decent for a buffet the options are great I do wish there were a bit more but it is the base necessities there and they taste really well can even remind you of grandma or mom's cooking. I recommend this place a bit after lunch where it is not as busy and there are servers that will give you undivided attention when attending you. They always have caldos rice beans fries and enchiladas what more can you ask for. Obviously they have other dishes but that's what I stick to and recommend personally. It is usually well swept and tables wiped off the serving area is always cleaned every set of minutes or whenever is it noticably dirty. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH MANAGEMENT AND OWNER. I am a long time visitor and patron. I am from out of town and visit El Paso often. Today I was in again and while I was beginning to eat I noticed a tech working on one of the make-line (refrigerated table). As I started to get my food the tech began using a grinder with a cut off wheel to cut in to the stainless steel there was dust and debris (stainless steel and cutting wheel) flying everywhere. I told the manager I'm very familiar with what the gentlemen is doing he isn't even trying to mitigate the dust by use of a hepa shop vac or any VAC. She called "THE OWNER" he authorized the tech to finish! Appaled by their decision I approached the tech and asked if he was aware he was contaminating food! He said no I'm not, I then told him he could use a different method to cut that would not compromise the food. I chose TO NEVER GO there AGAIN! OWNER SAYS IT'S OK BECAUSE HE/SHE ISN'T EATING! STAY AWAY! Worst experience I have had since I got to El Paso! By far. The food smelled and tasted as though it had been sitting out for hours. The waiter brought out 1 of 3 drinks and then proceeded to ignore us. Not the type to dine and dash, I asked for management. I politely informed them that I would be willing to pay for half the cost of the meals we didn't eat and drinks we didn't recieve. They feigned lack of understanding and when I asked for someone who spoke better English, I was not at all surprised to discover that no one could be located in the entirety of the establishment. Much to my chagrin, I ended up paying the total amount "owed" of over $30 simply to escape the people, the place, and the atmosphere. And the smell, I simply have no words.
