Lin's Grand Buffet — Restaurant in El Paso

Terrible experience. I have been to both locations and have previously had a good experience. On this occasion I went today the day before mother's day and was charged Holiday buffet pricing. If the experience had been good I totally would have been okay with that. However the food was cold didn't taste right and the service was much worse! The servers there seem to favor certain guests over others. I had to practically beg for napkins and go into the back area and as I was about to go and ask for napkins the waitress said well just take those. She said that they were clean I don't know how they were because they were wet. My son and I pretty much had to leave our food because it didn't taste right and we were never able to get a refill on drinks. The first glass we were served was so full of ice we took three sips and it was done. When asking for another the server completely ignored us and served everybody else. Constantly servers were just walking by I would waive them down and they would just ignore me but seemingly, bigger families and Mexican mothers tend to take priority I guess because I don't speak Spanish and I'm very Hispanic looking, I didn't get the proper respect. It's the first time in my life I didn't leave a tip. I understand that they were busy and I understand that being a server is an hard job but they certainly could have earned a lot more from me in tips had they been attentive to me even to some extent. 80$ for 4 adult buffets before 3 P.M. with drinks included. I know from what we hear and where we eat; our in town buffets are getting pricey but this is ridiculous. The sushi were no good at all the rice were hard. the portions were very small on the roll type sushi. The salt and pepper shrimp were cold, over cooked, mushy and tasteless. Sweet and sour chicken was cold as well. Maybe their heating lamps are not working properly, who knows? The egg drop soup was good but it had big chunks of egg all the way in the bottom of the barrel, maybe I shouldn't have scooped that deep but they're were big and greenish. the hot and sour soup was good. They didn't refills the crunchy chips you put in your soup. Our server made us wait a good 10 minutes until we got our drinks; so we started to eat no big deal but then we needed refills and then she made us wait 15 minutes for our refills. She even made a rude comment after finally bringing us our drinks," Ya venia ", she said as she saw one us stand up and walk towards the drink area with our cup so we could get some service. The bathrooms were clean and it is nicely decorated inside and parking is okay BUT now we know to wait out a table at Teppenyaki instead of trying a place...

I really loved the food here but the service was horrible it was my first time going to Lin's because many people from my school said they had a student special so me and my friends decided to go there as we were eating we finished our food and we went up to go get seconds the lady waited for us to put food on our plane then told us we had to pay for it she did not inform us when we paid we couldn't get seconds and we had to wait for my parents to get there to explain the situation because she will not listen to us and then as we explained to her the situation she basically called us dumb because she said everyone knows they can't get seconds there's no sign or she did not tell us then we tell her can you please notify other students that they can't get seconds because we saw many other groups of students getting seconds and even thirds and she said everyone knows but apparently you guys don'tin a very rude way and flicking her hand at us. I do not recommend you guys going there if you are students because she does not take them seriously and acts like they're little kids.
