Little Shack — Restaurant in El Paso

Wanted to try them out for a late lunch. The reviews got me!! 😒 I've said it before and I'll say it again, "its almost as if people on these reviews are just happy that they're eating food" or they found a date that wanted to try and impress them. 🤣

The fish tacos, by themselves, are BLAND and have a stale texture and the tortillas had that stale feeling or like they weren't even heated.

The tacos (fish) were average with the sauces (a creamy chipotle/adobo crema type sauce, a lime, cilantro, guac, cream sauce [i think], and a vinegary type hot sauce like a Frank's or Louisiana). The creamy chipotle adobo sauce was a thebest put of the 3. Its a good sauce though, but the fish itself didn't really stand out. They give you shredded red cabbage, diced onion, and diced jalapeños for garnishments.

The presentation is whatever. I took the 2 orders to go so they're just in a Styrofoam container. Maybe the eat in plating is different?

Service - Well the girl that took my order was attentive, friendly, and courteous. She greeted me as soon as I opened the door and asked what i needed. There was a chubby girl with black spandex sitting at the bar. She looked like she was bored and suffering because she was at work - hunched over the to-go menus. Of course on her phone and sipping on a drink. Not sure who she was, but no greeting or acknowledgement from her.

She decided to go distract the cook - even though there was already a 10 min wait on food. The cook has a staring problem.

Regardless, the cost of the tacos (regular price) isn't justified and I won't go back unless its happy hour or a Tuesday - for the fish tacos. I'll check in if I ever decide to go back for the alambre and cocktails.

Very good food, very poor service. Totally inattentive staff. It’s like they ALL have the attitude that “our food is so good, it’s your privilege to dine here, so we can basically ignore you.” Specific examples: they brought all the adults drinks (only after we asked and 15 minutes after we were seated) and we had to ask again for drinks for 4 kids. So it took over 25 minutes for our kids to get drinks. They brought half the food out, and I had to ask 15 minutes later where the rest of the food was...It was sitting in the back, getting cold. Had to ask for everything. Most of the time we had to get up and ask for things because no one was ever at our table. They forgot to bring chips and salsa, until we asked. They never topped off our drinks. I could go on. The only time they asked if we needed anything was at the end of our meal. I had my parents in town and I was excited to share this local jewel with them. The lack of service pretty much ruined what could have been a great meal. Bottom line- they need to improve their service. This would be a great pairing to their delicious food. Two stars...

Arrived at location and it was packed. Young lady said it'll be 15 to 20 min wait. Which was perfectly understandable. Was told we were next. While waiting another group of people just walk in and sit down at the table we were waiting on as it was being cleaned. Waitress then makes that group get up after we told the waitress. After we sit she tells us if we can move to another table (with another couple, who was "about to leave") because she wanted to sit the people who kindly even agreed to allow us to sit since we had been waiting the longest. waitress ended up making everyone involved uncomfortable. Told the rude waitress we would rather leave and did and believe that other group left too. What a shame,I loved this place but i'll take my business elsewhere. Ended up at los cabos on mesa. Now...
