Noodles & Dumplings is a little Chinese (American) restaurant at a basic strip mall here in El Paso. If you are looking for a place that serves quality Chinese food that fills you up but you are not looking for a place that is super fancy, this is it. I ordered the Kun Pao chicken over noodles. It was good! Just the right spice level for me to handle, fresh vegetable ingredients, and tender stir-fried chicken thigh. The portion was a lot for one person. I think their menu is good if you want to go family style, where the dishes are shared amongst the table. I also ordered red-bean baos; they are the big fluffy ones with a sweet paste in the middle. Just like my mom used to make! The service was sufficient. The staff was kind. The seating was OK, I probably made a poor choice in taking a table in the back as i think the staff usually sits around that back area during breaks and meals. They have one uni-sex bathroom, so do not get bent out of shape if you see the toilet seat up. If you want P.F. Ch*** level restaurant, go to that place. If you want quality comfort food without all the ostentatious atmosphere, Noodles & Dumplings is the place to go in El Paso. I will definitely seek this place out again for my next quick Chinese meal.

We order takeout from here at least once a week but today we had the pleasure of actually dining in and it was heavenly! Everything I’ve had from here is delicious. The noodle soup, fried rice, pan fried pork scallion dumplings, red bean baos, and orange chicken. My go-to order is the N4 house noodles add chicken (pictured below) the broth is so delicious and the noodles are perfect. You can see them making the noodles fresh through the window. My toddler loves ordering just a side of plain noodles and he gobbles them up in minutes. The portions are so generous and the quality of the food is exceptional and definitely justifies the price. I personally would be willing to pay even more. Love this place and so happy it’s here in the Northeast!

Today was our third visit. Previously we'd been nothing but pleased... so much so that it was becoming our Sunday tradition. But today I was very disappointed. Normally the noodle soups aren't exactly a carnivore's dream, there's definitely not a lot of meat; The noodles and broth are good enough to make up for it. But this time I couldn't find a single bite of beef that wasn't crunchy from gristle. Like, the BEST pieces had a line of gristle that I wouldn't have complained about if they had been the worst bite or two. But the worst bites had hardly any meat, all gristle. And the average was close to half gristle. But you don't have to take my word for it, I'm including pictures.

The food can come off a little pricey but you get so much food for what you pay, and I’ve been here twice now and have enjoyed the food both times, but my complaint is the front of house staff. And I get it, they’re younger and have been nice to me probably because I am also young, but there has to be SOME sort of professionalism and if you’re old enough to be a waitress you’re old enough to know some general manners when it comes to being a server. An older couple left after eating and they didn’t seem all that happy when one of the servers started playing older school hip hop and rap in a restaurant like this. While this personally didn’t bother me, I believe there’s a time and place for things like that and work isn’t a place for you to listen to your music like you would on your personal time. One of the servers then mentioned to another table, “They were just mad because I was enjoying my music.” I understand this is a small restaurant but the young servers need to at least give themselves and their place of work some dignity.

Specific tastes in music and seeing them get on their phone to play it loudly from their phone’s speakers just kind of crushes the ambiance for the general public in the restaurant, which is sad because the restaurant is so pretty and cozy inside.

It was also a little sad to see that a family of 3 came in shortly after me and they were not greeted, and they took a seat, and were never given any menus or asked for what they would like to drink. They sat for a while and neither of the servers came so they eventually got up and left which is bad for business because word will spread.

I really like coming here but that service has to change!!! I might just end up getting takeout...

Don't order from this restaurant.

The food is decent but the business practices are shady.

I ordered online on the QMenu and it appeared that it saved a previous order. My order went through with new and old items and I was charged $50 bucks. When I called to cancel items that were previously on the online cart, they were unable to help me with it. The cashier said "only my manager can do it and they are not available." I told them that we would fix it when I arrived.

I still have that charge and only received the dumplings of the order on that day. I called the QMenu customer service line that day (which said they handled it) and I STILL havent had a response from the management of this restaurant on Woodrow Bean.

It may not be a big deal to some, but during this pandemic, many families use their hard earned money on MAYBE one outing or dinner to provide a break for themselves and help their business community. Businesses who wish to be supported by their communities should prioritize AT THE LEAST to make an effort in remedying a simple communication issue. But at this restaurant that was not the case. I waited for management for 20 minutes and no one would meet with me at the register. The cashier and host kept apologizing for the unprofessional lack of response from their manager.

So I can stick to a review about the food, but if the customer service doesn't live up to how good the food is, then it makes no sense to continue doing business with an establishment like this.

If you decide to go for the food, the food is palatable.

If the management reads this review, please reach out. I am interested in...

Absolutely horrific customer service, illegal practices, and unappetizing food. The front service staff was rude, which can be understandable after a long work day. I placed my order she told me she would call when it was complete, in which I received a phone call about 20 minutes later and she met me at the door and handed me my order in tied bags (due to COVID-19 restrictions). When I arrived home I noticed that I did not receive my complete order and I called and requested a refund for the food I did not receive. The staff on the phone acknowledged that the partial order was at the restaurant ‘they just finished making it’ and told me that the only way I could receive a partial refund is to come in and get cash or get the missing food, after telling him I’m not coming back in he refused to refund me my money. After calling my credit card company I was notified that this is not only illegal but that many businesses prefer to do electronic refunds to minimize contact during this pandemic. My husband is in banking and he very familiar with merchant services and said all they had to do was go in and issue a partial refund. Then to add insult to injury the food was disgusting we ended up throwing away the food we did receive. I cannot recommend avoiding this restaurant enough, the food is flavorless and greasy, the staff is rude, and they truly do believe they can get away with illegal practices, please save yourself the time and frustration and skip right on by...
