My wife spotted this restaurant over 6 months ago. Having a big family delayed us ever visiting. Fast forward to the day of our wedding anniversary, being the procrastinator that I am, I have to come up with something. I set up a reservation with Google assist for 7 pm at 1 pm. Reservation went flawless, even with us showing up 30 minutes early. They accommodated us immediately. I mentioned to the gentleman that greeted us, behind my wife's back, that it was our anniversary (who we assume is the owner later during our dinner.) Once we were seated, we received prompt service. Every question we had, our waiter had an answer to. Absolute service professional. Having tried multiple places, we have yet to find a place that could do calamari "right." This establishment hit a grand slam with their calamari. The stuffed mushrooms are the only thing we could remotely have a complaint about, but at no fault to the restaurant. Since my wife has an allergy to most seafood, she was unable to eat the stuffed mushrooms due to some kind of seafood that was included (or so we think.) Our fault for not asking, and no biggie. I downed them easily. We were a little puzzled with the salads that were served, but after seeing salads served to a table next to us, we realized that we must have ordered the wrong type of salad. Again, our fault, and we ate our salads with a smile. The steaks were on point and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Lobster is, by nature, a tougher seafood item, but this establishment did not overcook it. If you like jumbo shrimp, then you will love this place. The wine was excellent, and that's coming from a couple that just returned from living in Italy for 3 years. Now that our meal is over, I mention to our server that we needed to go (cause I had other plans set up,) and he informed me that we still had desert coming, complimentary due to it being our anniversary. Cheesecake for each of us. I said thank you and to only serve one instead of two. There was also a mariachi band playing. Now this will not be a routine outing for us, because it is a bit pricey, but I believe it was worth every penny and would love to go back. This is currently our top on occasion location. We were amazed to see this restaurant packed, on a Wednesday, with a bit more of a pricy menu. We knew we were in for a great dining experience, and this place did not disappoint.

I went here because of the reviews and stars. The food is fantastic. We ordered 2 appetizers, muscles and calamari. The calamari was long and thick. Not the circular, they are better quality and taste much better than the usual circle kind. The appetizers were amazing. The entrees were- salmon with mushrooms. The salmon was overcooked, but it tasted good. The mushrooms were incredibly flavorful. Fish and chips. The fish was cooked well. Still moist and flaked apart when it was bitten off. Sweet potato fries had a perfect crisp and had a good hint of salt sprinkled on them. Sirloin meal was perfect. The steak was cooked just right and flavored deliciously. The price for lobster was a little high though its lobster. Presentation was lovely and was devoured quickly. The butter comes in a warmer. Made the fancy feel. What is not pictured is the bacon cheese burger with thick french fries. It was requested for the burger to be cooked medium. It didn't come out that way. Definitely well done, but it was still eaten and enjoyed. The kids meal, teriyaki chicken was fantastic. Moist chicken with a burst if pineapple teriyaki flavor. Our waiter was great. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. He was very attentive and explained every detail we asked for. He had to go back to get prices for certain things that were not priced, which is expected. We never had an empty glass and he was constantly checking to make sure we were good. We called prior to arriving when it opened and a table was reserved for us. You do have to walk around with a mask and enter with a mask but while you eat it can be removed. There was no thermometer check for fever as some restaurants do. We sat in the front room surrounded by windows. Only 2 tables were open in that section because of the limited # of capacity during Covid. The restaurant was cool and clean. Plenty of space between the tables. There are a lot of interesting reads along the walls of the restaurant. I can see why they have been recognized for being one of the best. I'd highly recommend for anyone to go. When I return I will definitely treat myself to dessert.

My family and I had been wanting to go to Pelicans for awhile. I had never been before so I did not know what to expect. I love seafood and all I wanted for my birthday was a good seafood dinner. My family and I decided to celebrate at Pelicans. We drove almost 20 minutes to arrive at this oasis in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert. It was a Monday night, semi busy, and they willingly and cheerfully accommodated our party of 12. We did make reservations the day before. Our waitress, Carla, was outstanding. She had a great attitude, attended us often and did her best to make sure we had an enjoyable time. I started off with a Pelicans Mezcal Margarita which gave me an enjoyable buzz through out the evening. For appetizers I tried the calamari and mussels. Both were great. The butter of the mussels increased the flavor and experience. The appetizers were finished down to the shell. For the main entree I had the Cold Water Lobster Tail with garlic mashed potatoes and a bowl of New England clam chowder. The New England clam chowder was perfect. Very rich, creamy and full of flavor. I added some roasted garlic that comes with the complimentary bread to the clam chowder for some extra garlic flavor. That's just because I like garlic. The garlic mashed potatoes were great. I usually eat my mashed potatoes with gravy but these potatoes did not need gravy. Last but not least, the Lobster Tail. It's not easy to make a perfect Lobster tail, especially since it's a delicacy. I would say that Pelicans did a perfect job. The Lobster was cooked just right. It was very tender, delicious, had that slight sweetness you'd hope for, and the side of lemon and butter just increased the experience. You really don't need the butter or lemon, but I like the added flavor. Even the rice under the Lobster was great. It soaked up the butter and dripping flavors while eating the Lobster. The rice made a great addition to the plate. By the time we were all done eating, everyone's plates were cleaned, and everyone was full and happy! Thank you Pelican's for an enjoyable birthday dinner. We will be back for more!
