Overall the food was disappointing and the service was alright but needs improvement.
The steak flatbread was VERY good. The chicken parmesan was a mixed experience as the chicken was great, but the pasta tastes like leftovers (dry, not enough sauce and mushy noodles). The sauce should be added right before serving to avoid the noodles soaking it up. The creme brulee was made in a bizarre way by adding a berry compote to the top which made the caramelized, hard top turn soft. The point of creme brulee is to have a crunchy top and creamy custard underneath. A better way would be to put the compote at the bottom so you can enjoy it with the custard and still have that top to crack.
The wine by the glass was disappointing. The Malbec was much more sour than the average Malbec and the Cabernet Sauvignon was from an old bottle which tasted of cork and generally as though it was past the point that it should be served.
The hostess wasn't rude, but she seemrd as though her job is the last place on earth she wants to be. Sitting at the front table staring at her phone isn't terribly professional and makes her less approachable.
The server seemed to take offense at any feedback that was offered on the food quality and made no significant effort to correct the issues. They also made us wait to get the check for almost 20 minutes and I had to ask the hostess to retrieve our server so we could pay and leave.
This place has potential, but with performance like this, I will not...
Read moreZero stars . We just left the restaurant after the excitement of celebrating our anniversary. As my spouse was eating there was a **LONG HAIR * in his meal . He literally pulled it out of his mouth like a spaghetti noodle .
I was very kind and notified the waiter in a discreet manner as to not cause a scene . The manager acknowledged this as well and the fact that this happened.
This is unacceptable . The bill was $130 plus and his meal was replaced but we paid for it .
I couldn’t stomach to eat my own meal after this . We were gracious and generous with our response and did not demand much but weren’t really truly respected .
The fact that this happened with such a high bill is truly telling of the condition of care this restaurant regards to their patrons . This kitchen and hygiene is of concern for illness .
Clearly , no hair nets are being required and who knows what else is going on in the kitchen . We were not compensated at all but given a free piece of not so good cake and sent on our way .
Completely, disappointed and sad that the evening was ruined by such a disgusting experience.
What seems shiny , fancy and pretty on the outside isn’t necessarily of...
Read moreMy lunch experience at Thyme was nothing short of spectacular! Having not set foot in this delightful establishment for over six years, I was eager to see what had changed—and I must say, the improvements are remarkable. From the moment I entered, I was warmly greeted by the hostess and allowed to choose the perfect table that suited my comfort.
My waitress, Zerelda, was an absolute gem. Her kind demeanor and attention to detail made me feel instantly welcomed. Unsure of whether to try the Saku Ceviche or the Hamachi, I asked for her recommendation. Zerelda confidently suggested her personal favorite, and it did not disappoint in the slightest.
The lunch menu boasted an impressive array of choices, but the Shrimp Diavola caught my eye. Let me tell you—this dish was a revelation. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. I only wish there had been more!
As I couldn’t finish everything, Zerelda kindly boxed up the leftovers, ensuring I could savor the meal later. Thyme continues to exceed my expectations with its exceptional food and impeccable service. Without a doubt, it's still one of the best restaurants on the Upper Westside of El Paso! Highly...
