I’ve been to this place 2 times now. I only drink black coffee and if I’m paying $4.50 for a cup I hope it will be good. First time they said they were brewing a lovely Kenyan coffee for me so I waited and then she said they had run out. The coffee they gave me was their regular house blend and was nothing special. Second time they only had the regular house blend again. The coffee was lukewarm so it must have been sitting there a long time. I asked if they could brew another fresh batch and they looked at me like I was asking for them to run the Boston Marathon. It took about 15 mins for them to run their marathon before I got my coffee and I told them they should have fresh coffee for customers so they don’t have to waste anyone’s time. Come on, this is LA. No apologies or a “this one’s on us”. All I got was a grimacing stare. The coffee wasn’t good this time either. Way too weak. I’ll be bypassing Offset future forward. If you want excellent real drip brewed coffee I highly recommend Peet’s....
Read moreFlying in from Texas and found this spot. The first time I came my iced latte with cold foam was great. The 2nd and 3rd time I guess I ordered a difficult drink - nitro vanilla cold brew with cold foam. It came with ice and no flavor on the first occasion. Then the second time I asked for extra syrup, which costed extra, because I didn’t taste any the previous time and had to add sweetener (I don’t even like my drinks very sweet so for me not to taste anything was something). Well I guess it was made completely wrong the first time because this time it had no ice (which is what I expected the first time) and it was way over sweet and I could barely drink it. The cold foam was more of a cold liquid which turned the whole drink light tan color (I was expecting actual foam that sits on top of the drink like an einspanner) The 4 stars is for the excellent pastries that I’ve tried there and the avocado toast which...
Read moreOrdered a pour over and a croissant at Riviera Village location. Very lively at 9:30 in the morning. Croissant was “cakey”, not a layered dough pastry - they need to get a new distributor or charge significantly less than they are for it. Pour over took extremely long to get - the staff forgot about it as I watched it get cool. I wasn’t sure it was mine until all of the other pour overs were served and that’s when I went up to ask about it. I got a sheepish “Sorry” from one of the baristas who poured it into a mug immediately. I have been here in the past and enjoyed my coffees before, but something has changed. Not coming here ever again. Too many other quality coffee places around to spend my money on...
