Checked In: Thursday, August 14 at 10:41PM Left: Friday, August 15 at 12:05AM Clearly our 1 hour and 24 minute stay did not end well. Parked and check-in as normal, the person who checked us in was Derek, as the other person, Jesse, was on the phone and unavailable to check us in. Once we are in our room, we get ready for bed and start the shower but the water abruptly stops just as it was turned on. We checked the sink and the water was not running either. First, we head to the phone and call the front desk, which had no instructions on what to dial to reach them, but we dial # and Derek answers. We inform him that there is no running water and he states "There is no running water in the entire building at the moment due to a SUDDEN plumbing issue and we expect it to return after 4am". We ask if we will be compensated or reimbursed for our stay, and how will he be assisting us in this process. He hangs up. We go downstairs and we are not the only guests looking for a clear explanation on how we will be assisted due to this issue. Jesse states that she informed us before we checked in, but that never happened. A couple states they were told it would be shut off at 12am when they checked in around 3pm earlier Thursday, August 14th. Both Derek and Jesse knew that the water would be shut off HOURS IN ADVANCE and did not mention it to us or many other guests, they has 7+ hours of notice, this was not sudden. All we simply ask is to be moved to another hotel, but Derek tells us WE WILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. Thats simply unacceptable. There is no running water, the staff knew well in advance and did not inform us prior to checking-in, the LEAST they can do is accomodate us at a sister hotel for this major inconvenience. The worse part of it all, Jesse and Derek are not offering any other solutions and would rather engage in an argument and screaming match over whether they let us know or not. This truly ruined my night, I had to find another hotel on my own, drive there, pay another out of pocket costs and stay up late for bo good reason. Honestly, this is the worse experience I've ever had at any hotel, the customer service was appaling and I hope I can find some sort of resolution after this, because this was the last thing I would ever want to deal with when I stay at any hotel. For a first time review and temporary stay at Cambria Hotel LAX.

I am currently HERE at the hotel. We admittedly came at the wrong time to be in LA, during Taylor Swift concert (hence the hefty price of $325 for the night). I understand this is a 3 star hotel, so my expectations weren’t outrageously high. Upon arrival, the hotel room is cute. But the bedding does not fit the thick mattress…so they were all bunched up and about ready to snap back onto the mattress. One wrong move, bare mattress. No amount of muscle could get that down over the mattress-have they not heard about deep pocket fitted sheets? The bathroom had no soap, by the sink, and roughly a millimeter of body wash in the shower. I called the front desk who informed me housekeeping had gone home and they’d send someone as soon as they could. 20 min later I called to see if they were coming-she assured me they were coming now. He arrived a few minutes later (the guy who actually checked us in) with just the body wash. I said: we need soap too. He said: what? What do you mean? I’m like: soap to wash your hands, like at the sink?! A bar of soap? He seemed slightly confused by that. He said he’d go see if they have any. Am I living in an alternate universe where people don’t know you need to wash your hands after you use the restroom? He did finally bring us two bars of soap. Kudos. Fast forward an hour later: we get a text message saying “Dear Valued Guest: the city of El Segundo will be turning off the water between 10am-12 pm the next day. I called the front desk to confirm this was true, and she said “yes”. Is there any compensation for this inconvenience?! Absolutely not. She was rude, as I mentioned I couldn’t be the only one miffed about this. She assured me: yes, I was the only one. I spoke to 5 people in the elevator who had NO idea of this water scenario and were pissed. Tomorrow, people will be mid shower at 9:55 and will get a shock when it stops. For the amount we paid: have at the minimum SOAP & properly made beds. I won’t be staying here ever again and won’t recommend it to anyone. Too much $$ for subpar accommodations.

I've been to LA quite a few times and have never ran into a worse staff then at this hotel. Everyone was rude and not helpful at all. Oh except for one lady with locs she was really nice and very helpful but we only saw her at the desk one time. The hotel is very nice, the lobby the pool the dining area were clean and well kept there was only 1 elevator working the whole time we were there. The rooms were clean and comfortable but dont expect to get much sleep, the walls are super thin you can hear everything in the adjacent rooms and in the hall way.The chaise in the room had stains and a burn hole in it and the bed frames are ridiculously larger than the mattresses so everytime U try to maneuver around the beds expect to hit your shins on the corners of the beds. They charge for everything, the breakfast or bar is not included in your stay and they charge for parking which was not on the site that booked on ,$27 per day (insane). The location was good considering its close to the highway and check out is at 12 but they come knocking on doors at 11 basically rushing You out. I would not choose to stay here again

As a Choice Hotels Diamond member, this is the worst hotel stay I've had thus far. They have such a nice lobby and bar for no reason when the rooms aren't even equipped with a microwave and barely working mini fridge, which was an issue as I am a diabetic and need a good working fridge for my insulin. Not only that but as I arrived to my room, I attempted to turn on the LED lights of the mirror in the room, which was off, so I thought maybe I had to plug it in. As I lifted the mirror slightly, to do so, the entire VERY heavy mirror came falling down on my foot, and a screw came out the wall down with it. Called the front desk about the issue, later to find out the mirrors are supposed to be BOLTED to the wall, already plugged in!!!! Tia stated the electrician team is supposed to make sure of that in every single room but "were gone until the morning." She asked if I needed an ambulance, I said no since my fiance who was with me later took me to the hosptial after checkout because I was not going to be stuck with a hefty ambulance ride bill for their negligence. My foot was heavily bruised, and I could barely walk on it. It could have been so much worse if it hit my head or my paralysed mother!!! She stated she would come up to take pictures but sent the security guard to do so and made an incident report. I am now pursuing legal action for this injury. Followed up with Eddie Andre (the general manager). He was pretty helpful in this situation but is leaving it all up to their insurance. To top it off, my room apparently didn't include breakfast as it stated, and they stated I'd have to pay for items on the menu like what the h*ll. Might as well go to the Chick-fil-A for breakfast down the street. Not only that, they charge a 200 dollar holding fee per night!!! So not worth the high price for their rooms either. I'm so glad I used my reward points towards a free night here and not spent my actual money minus the holding fee which I did get back (not that they even offered me a refund, discount, or ANYTHING anyways.) I was also wrongfully charged for parking when I did not even park a vehicle!!! ALSO, since I'm a Diamond member with Choice Hotels, one of the perks I get is late checkout, and I was being harrased to exit the room as I was already loading my belongings! Ridiculous! In all my years of staying in hotels, this was one the worst stays. Even the Motel 6 LAX down the street is better than this hotel, smh. The ONLY thing I could not complain about was the bed, pillows, and couch being pretty comfortable. But the cons definitely over weigh the one pro. 0/10 would...

I booked through Agoda which gave me an awesome deal for this otherwise very expensive hotel. The staff was polite and professional. The room did not have hot water. We called 3 times within the time span of 2 hours regarding the status of fixing the issue of the hot water with no resolution. And by no hot water, I mean the hottest the water would get after half an hour of running the water was MAYBE slightly above body temperature.

As I headed to the front desk to ask about changing rooms, I asked another hotel guest about their hot water and they informed me that they hadn’t had hot water for two days. Once at the front desk, the staff informed me that 2 of the 3 boilers were down and the one maintenance man (who was also at the front desk) had been working to fix the issue with no success. Why wasn’t this escalated beyond the maintenance man to a company who specializes in repairing boilers? The staff remained polite. I asked about switching rooms and they offered to test the water temperature of a different room before allowing me to change rooms. Unfortunately, there was not hot water in any of the other available rooms.

I can suffer through a cold shower for the sake of being clean. My 64 year old mother with arthritis, whom I was traveling with, cannot.

The next morning, I asked the staff at the front desk about the hot water again. The morning staff claimed to have no been informed about this issue. That is a problem! Either the staff from the day before did not correctly hand over important information to the morning staff OR the morning staff is not taking accountability for knowing about the lack of hot water. In any event, I asked if my mother and I could have vouchers for a hot breakfast since the hotel did not have hot water for us to have comfortable showers with. The staff gladly provided free breakfast vouchers for us. And I thanked the staff multiple times for this. I do not like bartering in this way, but it only felt fair to have a free hot meal if the hotel could not provide a hot shower.

I will not be staying at this hotel in the future despite the potential future deals on agoda, the reasonably priced parking (compared to other hotels in the area), and the good location because of the way the staff handled the entire hotel not having hot water. Hopefully the issue is resolved now for whatever poor hotel...
