The Baseline: For a Mexican fast casual restaurant the flavors of the food must make use of the prime Mexican ingredients (corn, beans, chiles, rice, cheese, and meats), preparation of sauces/salsas must be fresh, the meal portion size must make me feel full, and service must be efficient.
Food: I had two different quesadillas and the elote on this visit. Loved every item we ordered. The sauce and meat of the quesadilla was well cooked and spiced. The elote is my new go-to side item (better than the fries).
Service: Good to great service with service to your table via number handed out. The staff is very friendly and they appreciate the tips as they will cheer for you when given.
Ambiance: The restaurant breathes the air of a typical Los Angeles Mexican quick/casual eatery. The seating was well placed with a good flow for customers. The bathroom was clean when I used it.
Previous review:
This is a great taco place in the Chargers Commons plaza with a lot of food choices. The decor is fun and the food is delicious with very good flavor and quantity for the price. The Tres Tacos was really good. My favorites are carne, pastor, and pollo in that order ($18) The burrito was significantly loaded and was worth the price ($13).
Good selection of drinks, sodas, horchata, and Jamaica. The only hit I would give is the fries. They are restaurant bagged fries but are prepared well. The service is incredible for a fast casual dining experience. The staff is really attentive,...
Read moreFood is FIRE. Customer service and guest experience is always top notch. They all are very friendly. One observation I made though is they bias and give better customer service to people who tip. I’ve been going since the week they’ve opened and I always order to go. On to go orders I don’t usually tip (not saying I’m proud of that and tipping culture is a whole other topic). I’ve gone about 7-8 times and never once was asked about or offered a punch card (10 visits for a free meal). On my previous visit I ordered my food and was waiting on the side for it. As I waited 3 different parties ordered, 2 of which were offered a punch card and 1 that already had one. I believe they all tipped because the staff makes it obvious (they all clap and say thank you). When I ordered absolutely no mention of a punch card and the group immediately after me is offered one? This entire time that I’ve gone and ordered to go - I’m just now finding out about punch cards. I had to go up after these people and ask for a punch card. Am I being “targeted” for not tipping?? Do they only offer it to people who do? Not sure tbh. If it’s just a “mistake” then it kinda sucks that the same “mistake” has happened to me the past 7-8...
Read moreI hate to give this facility a bad review, but the attention to customer service here at the El Segundo location is poor and disappointing.
I first had an issue some months ago with hair being on my food. The manager said he would take care of it by providing a refund. Days went by, and I had not received the refund I was told. I had to go out of my way again to call their restaurant and inquire about the refund. After a week of calling, this issue was resolved.
Some months passed since that incident, and once again we experienced a lack of customer service from visiting the second time. My food had some odd-looking aluminum. That should not be there in the first place. Do workers of this restaurant not check the food before it's sent out to the customer? We were then offered a refund, and were told that it will be resolved Monday (we had come in on a Saturday). It is now Friday and I still don't see the refund reflecting on my bank account; this is the same issue I experienced the first time. No one has followed-up with me regarding this issue.
It's understandable that accidents happen but again, this is the second time I experience both of these issues. That is not acceptable.
Never returning to...
