I specifically sought out this restaurant based on the hype of it being a top US ranked Chinese buffet. I'm scratching my head? I have so many questions. Maybe top 10 under $10 lunch in Tri-Cities TN? I'd question that also. My first disappointment was the temperature of the food, mostly lukewarm. Maybe there's an issue with the steam tables keeping temperature up? Are they adding product and not stirring to bring the older to the top? Second is the inconsistency of the different dishes served. Small chicken pieces in a coating or batter were overcooked and chewy. The shrimp in the shrimp dishes was perfect, tender and flavorful. A+ there. Egg rolls, spring rolls, wontons, etc. lacked much meat and were mostly filler like cabbage. Even the seafood bake lacked any substantial "fake crab" or other seafood, it was mostly cheese and fillers. Positives include: the variety of dishes and soups were good, there is even a salad bar, and dessert offerings. They did a good job of keeping the trays full of food during Saturday lunch rush. I'm wondering if it was an off day because I can think of half a dozen other Chinese buffets that...
Read moreThe food is good and the price is good but my daughter was in there eating with my grandson and over by the dish pan where they take the dirty dishes at the end of each aisle was a huge puddle of water and my daughter slip and fell that was the second time another time she was going to the restroom and back by the restroom down the hallway there was another puddle of water with no yellow cone to tell you look out a sweat and she had a terrible fall. I was with another party by myself and I actually had to complain to the owner that they should put towels down or sign so finally she went and got some towels and cleaned it up but no sign cone to give a warning that it's wet. Fortunately my daughter is not a su happy person but if it had been me I would have definitely sued them after falling the second time around. And it really wasn't just a wet spot the second time it was a pool of water from those dish pans so if you do go eat it's wonderful food for the price but make sure you wear good sturdy...
Read moreWe went this past Saturday at the start of dinner time. We will not return. We enjoy oriental food when it is fit to eat. The variety was not there either. I have ate at restaurants from coast to coast. I tried something that tasted like the old canned dog food smelled and had the same texture. I spit it out quickly. I was appalled to watch them use a towel to clean the chairs, napkin holder and then the table in that order. That was just nasty. The only thing I can say we did like was the tea. Most things was dried out ( the wontons for the soup was almost hard) or things was starting to get soggy if they should have been crisp (spring rolls should have a crunch). I have no idea how it could have the rating it does unless people was paid to write and give a good rating. Otherwise the people giving the good rating have not had the opportunity to enjoy decent let alone good...
