Scam alert! I had an extremely bad experience at this restaurant. If there was an option I could have given 0 stars. I went to this restaurant on Oct 19th 2024 with my family and didn't had a good experience. We ordered chicken shish kebab plate and Kofte kebab plate and a turkish Egglant -saksuka. The portion size was very less and it wasn't sufficent for 4 People(2 adults and 2 kids). The Eggplant was burnt and all we could taste was just burnt eggplant. I asked the waitress if she can replace it or just take it away as we aren't able to eat it and will throw it anyway. The server went to ask her colleague/Manager and I think they told her to just ignore us and no one ever bothered to replace it for us. Since the portion sizes was small we asked a server( a lady who was wearing glasses and she was different from the one looking after our table) to get us adana kebab plate. We waited for 5-10 mins and when our plate came it had only a single skewer of the kebab. I called the lady who was originally serving us and brought to her attention that the menu clearly states that it comes with two skewers of adana kebab and if they had missed to add it our if its just Half plate. She confirmed in the menu and went to check with the lady who took the order and came back to us stating we had ordered Urfa kebab and it comes with only one skewer which was a lie since we ordered Adana kebab and thats what they served us. When I brought to her attention that its spicy and also has pepper in it and not the mild urfa kebab she again went to the lady who had taken our order and they started ignoring us. I had to call the lady with glasses who took our order and asked what was going on and she came up with some weird reasons that actually the menu is wrong and adana kebab comes with only one skewer. I told her Its $28 and how come it comes with just a single skewer and also if something is mentioned wrong on their menu they should either replace it or at least give us whats mentioned on the menu. When I told her to please take it back I don't need it she started telling me that its actually the same amount of meat I get in 2 skewers and now instead of putting it in 2 skewers they put it on a single skewer. They didn't ever bring any additonal skewer nor gave us anything complimentary for their mistake. They didn't even had the courtesy to apologize or acknowledge their mistake. Will never go this place nor recommend anyone to go there. My check # was 127 and total meal costed me $90.43. The food was decent but the experience and the attitude of the staff just so pathetic and unprofessional it just completely...
Read moreThey used to have a store located in Bensenville, and I loved shopping there. They had a wide selection of cheeses, and I could find many Turkish products that other stores didn’t carry. Recently, I visited their new location (Aladdin in Mount Prospect), and unfortunately, I felt the need to share my disappointing experience with a recent order.
First, I called to order Lahmacun and Kashkaval Cheese Pide. An employee answered the phone and asked what I needed. When I started to say I wanted 5 Lahmacuns, she suddenly interrupted me and said she had a customer to take care of, asking if I could wait on the line for a minute. I agreed and waited—more than 7 minutes—before hanging up and calling again.
When I called back, she rudely said she still had a customer. I tried to place my order again—5 Lahmacuns and a Kashkaval Cheese Pide—but she told me she wasn’t taking orders. After two calls and this unprofessional attitude, I asked if she could please take my order since I was already on my way. She said she couldn’t take the order unless I paid through a system she would send me.
I agreed, but I told her I was driving and would make the payment as soon as I stopped at a red light. Even after I explained that, she kept insisting that I hadn’t paid yet. I completed the payment as soon as I was safely stopped.
After paying, I noticed that the Kashkaval Cheese Pide, which was listed as $7.99, was charged at $13.99. When I arrived to pick up my order, the woman wasn’t there. Instead, a tired-looking cook gave me the food, and I didn’t want to bother him by asking about the price difference.
It was such a disappointing experience. It’s sad to see a grocery store I used to love become so unprofessional. I hope they take this kind of feedback seriously and work to make...
Read moreI’m honestly sad to be writing this review because I’ve been a big fan of this place ever since it opened. We’ve visited many times with family and friends and always enjoyed the food. But over time, we started noticing a gradual decline in quality—at first subtle, but now more obvious.
On our most recent visit, we sat on the café side and ordered a large kelle paça soup. Unfortunately, it arrived barely warm and with almost nothing in it. It was quite disappointing, especially considering how much I enjoyed this same dish in the past.
I also had to ask for bread and garlic sauce, which I normally wouldn’t mind, but the bread was noticeably lower in quality than previous visits. This was my third time ordering kelle paça—the first was excellent, the second okay, but this third one will sadly be my last for now.
The most concerning part was the garlic sauce. Instead of the fresh, chopped garlic they used to serve, I was given a bottle of something that smelled very spoiled—so much so that the smell lingered on my hand for two days. To my surprise, the owner confirmed that this was, in fact, the garlic sauce being served.
As someone who truly appreciated this restaurant and recommended it to many, I want to leave a sincere note to the owner: please take this as constructive feedback from a loyal customer. The quality of food and ingredients really matters, and I’m not the only one who has noticed the recent change. I’ve heard similar concerns from others in the community as well.
If things improve, I would be more than happy to come back and update this review. But until then, I’ll be taking a break from visiting. I genuinely hope things turn around—your food has the potential to be...
